  1. Good find Stephen. One of the better sound recordings I've heard. What a fine layout it is too very urban, and some lovely buildings. Rich,
  2. It's looking sweet Stephen. I like the Bell container in one of the pics and the calender looks lovely on the wall. Revell SM 332 is a nice Day Glow color. Try the various brands that have been mentioned and see what you like best. I'm enjoying this thread immensely. Rich,
  3. Thanks Brian, I appreciate that. I'll have to invest in one. Rich,
  4. As Des has said they would need some surgery to replicate the Irish wagons. If I remember the same wagons as ours ran in the UK. Who knows maybe one of the manufacturers of UK models may do a run in the future. Pat is right LS models are very expensive. Rich,
  5. Anyone know what year the reg would be on that particular model Ford van. Rich,
  6. A prophetic speech if there ever was one Jim. Rich,
  7. Cheers Eamonn and thanks for the very kind offer for a cuppa. If I have time I'll give you a bell in advance. Rich,
  8. Good advice from a master. The more he does Richie the better he'll get and the more enjoyment and personal satisfaction he will have. BabyGM you're on the right road and you'll only get better, good for you. Rich,
  9. I prefer the original All Quite on the western front movie myself to the remake. I must get the book sometime. I think a lot of us have relatives that fought and gave their lives. Who would have thought that a bohemian corporal serving in the German army would plunge the world into another war 21 years later. Rich,
  10. Kit bashing and scratch building has always played a big part in modelling Irish Railways. I'm glad you enjoyed it and it looks like you know what you are doing, so that's half the battle. Rich,
  11. If you look at the percentage per population of men that gave their lives in the great war, Ireland had huge losses. My Great Grandfather served in a Welsh Regiment. Even though he survived a part of him never came home. Truly brave men that deserve to be remembered and honored. Rich,
  12. I agree Pat. Do RTE have any decent footage in their archives. Although Ironing the land had some poorly researched information at least it had a begining, a present, and future look at the railways. Rich,
  13. I thought 80% of the footage had been used in Ironing the land. I was expecting Dick Warner to pop up in top hat and cape. Next week might be a bit more interesting with some newer footage. Rich,
  14. I might be passing through your neck of the woods Eamonn in a few weeks. Just wondering what kind of rail traffic I am likely to see. Rich,
  15. Good man, a nice way to kill a few hours. I bet you enjoyed it, well done. Rich,
  16. Sounds like a good trade, I bet you're happy. Rich,
  17. Thanks Jack for posting pics of your models they look great. Some of the Railways in the Alpine region of Northern Italy are really beautiful and picturesque. Truly gorgeous pieces of rolling stock and the layout looks very nice. Rich,
  18. The models look fantastic. I really like the Soo line model. The prototype pics look nice also. Rich,
  19. Great work Robert you should be very pleased with it. You're too modest, well done. Rich,
  20. Absolutely delighted for you Fran. They look breathtaking in the video. They could well be the new bench mark for Bachmann, and from what I've seen the Hornby class 60 may have to share the number one spot with them. Your friends layout has some great scenic areas for taking pics and videos. It reminds me of Tony Wrights Stoke Summit layout in those respects. The area the video is taken from could well be a train enthusiasts paradise. Rich,
  21. Now that would be one hell of a model Stephen. I would even settle for double heading two 3 car sets. Rich,
  22. Top man David, congratulations on picking up an unmissable bargain. Best of luck with it. Rich,
  23. Thanks Fran I seem to remember a piece about the prototype in a mag some time ago. The Freightliner-Shanks livery is certainly eye catching. Rich,
