  2. You may like to try this for your transfers, http://georgedentmodelmaker.blogspot.ie/2013/01/klear-ing-things-up.html The original is no longer available , but according to George Dent, the latest replacement is not too bad. It is ideal for brushing on and does not leave any brush marks. Hope this helps. Regards
  3. Very nice pics there, Not been down to Ballina for a while myself, should really make the effort and get some pics myself, I'm about 40 mins drive from Ballina. The station layout looks like it could have potential for a terminus to fiddle yard layout, I think I have a track plan somewhere that was published in Railway Modeller a few years ago. Regards.

After several months in storage I finally got the layout out from loft yesterday afternoon, made temporary connection with DCC controller and test run a loco, all worked fine, and the Seep point motors had not seized up either. So next job a bit of general cleaning ,and try and work on the back scene, and tidy up the baseboard edges. Should keep me busy for a while.

  12. In my opinion, whichever party is in opposition always seem to have great idea's, but when and if they get voted into government then quite often back track [excuse the pun]. As mentioned earlier, its the same in UK politics or Irish. Also agree, Railways and most forms of public transport don't make a profit, but are there to provide a service. If the railways where shut down how would that help, with more traffic on the roads, Like Blu Bianco mentioned earlier about the N4/N50 in Dublin.
  13. Hi Warbonnet, yes its is HO scale, loco's mainly Athern, Atlas and the F40 is a Walthers model.
  14. This is one on my current on-going projects. The track plan is based on an 0 gauge layout called Swansea Riverside which was built by a member of the Luton Model railway club of which I am a former member. After seeing this layout, it was thought a good idea to try and replicate the plan in different scales and era's, I believe there that there are versions in 00 and N gauge and even one in Z gauge. My version is Canadian/US based, set somewhere in Canada near the US border but not set in any particular location or era, there is a mix of locomotives from various railroads that use the fuelling and light maintenance facilities at Campbell Riverside. The scenic part of the layout is 6' x 1' and is on two boards for easy transportation. It is DCC operated and at present one loco is sound fitted.
  15. Hi Tom, thanks for your message. I'm near Ballyhaunis. My interest is quite diverse, I have mostly British outline models in N, 00 and recently some in 0 gauge. Also US HO of which I have a small diesel depot layout made, and have a few Irish models from MurphyModels/Bachmann. My Irish stock is 3 x 141/181 loco's, 3 Craven coaches, and a rake of Bachmann/Murphy MK2's. Regards.. John
  16. Hi, are there any modellers who are in the Mayo area. Maybe we could get together occasionally to share ideas and possibility start a model railway club.
