@DJ Dangerous yip it was me - then JB reminded me that they were actually much smaller in real life so I'm feeling better about them now. They are gorgeous models, and fantastic runners, as long as you make sure the middle axle is actually on the rails (speaking from experience!)

Yes I've been only running them together but they even look dwarfed by the locos pulling them, and running them together means not enjoying a key feature of 1950s & 1960s CIE, namely the running of trains with an insane variety of passenger and goods stock. I tried assembling such a train and the Genesis coaches just looked too small to me. It's a pity, because they are lovely models and very high quality. Admittedly I only have CIE diesel locos so am guessing the size issue wouldn't be as prominent if they were being pulled by a J15 for example.

I've gone off my Hatton's Genesis coaches - beautifully finished etc. but they just look too small to me. Can't imagine what they are going to look like next to a Park Royal

Proudly bearing her brand new name plates, Ballycastle Railway No. 2 'Countess of Antrim' shows off her exceptional slow running and sound capabilities as she pays a quick visit to Kilmore on the BCDR mainline. Generations of historians have since been pondering how the BR and BCDR engineers handled the small matter of gauge. This event wasn't mentioned in Des Coakham's writings for some reason!
