  1. Great space - the imagination has definitely been allowed to flourish! Looking forward to updates!!!
  2. That looks fab David, such an unusual prototype and as usual you have replictated it to perfection. Mighty!
  3. Lovely stuff!!
  4. It’s weird, how my car always seems to take a detour when I’m returning from a work trip…… Still plenty to see at Oldcastle, Co. Meath, former terminus of the long GNR(I) branch from Drogheda: * the station building survives in good order, with lots of original features to see, and it appears that part of the platform and also the train shed are still intact * the polychromatic WH Mills small office building - this makes a strong contrast to the main stone building * the stone goods shed - my photo shows what is presumably the goods office, the actual shed is much bigger, but there was a lot of activity here today so I decided not to photograph it The problem with visiting sites like this is that it gives me yet another idea for a new model railway layout!
  5. Even though SC was actually Scottish so the joke was rubbish on lots of levels
  6. I had no idea what the brickwork actually was, just saw an opportunity for a crap joke
  7. Might explain why the bricks are 'English Bond'.......
  8. Yip noticed that - slates on the platform too. There are signs warning about CCTV but will that make a difference I wonder.....
  9. Work brings me to the midlands again and the obligatory visit to Moate - incredible to think this was once part of a double track main line route to the west. But at least it is being looked after and there might even be the remote possibility of it seeing trains again (hears the can of worms opening)!!
  10. Interesting - I noticed that the Hunslets are 'in transit' but the PRs are still 'in production' on the website.... but I am very much looking forward to both arriving!! Jeepers there is a lotttttttt of stuff in production from Accurascale this year!!! Fair play to all at AS.
  11. Ready for the road - at least you don't have too far to go for the first outing Alan!
  12. A relative of Berkley Dean perhaps.....
  13. Very nice Leslie!! Pity Clogherhead didn't have cattle traffic
  14. If the BCDR main line had survived into the 1960s, this might have been possible: IMG_3908.MOV
  15. Delighted to see the layout in person today, it looks fabulous and will be a big hit at this and all other shows!! By far the most authentic recreation of the BCDR. Great stuff, Alan!!
  16. Remembering the late great Paddy Murphy as B147 arrives at Clogherhead: https://youtu.be/53ygZyyY7SU Diesel DCC delights as 4 ‘black & tans’ introduce themselves at Clogherhead: https://youtu.be/dEgreGwE6kE
  17. Also acquired today courtesy of @WRENNEIRE - and a poignant day for it: one of the new Murphy 141s, no. B147, sound-fitted. Very sorry to learn of Paddy Murphy’s passing, a tribute video will follow.
  18. Nice new acquisition today, courtesy of Mr. Dave B @WRENNEIRE Silver Fox 2-car AEC railcar in GN livery - shall be chipped in due course.
  19. Looks very solid, could be quite heavy though once finished?
  20. RIP Paddy
  21. Awesome!
  22. A little birdie tells me there will be some extremely high quality music being performed on some of the trains that day..........
