  1. Excellent!! Especially the Galway! Can finish off a few mkii rakes now :)
  2. Very smart! More photos please!
  3. For those who asked, the gantry is this Ratio Kit http://www.modelrailwayslimited.com/model-railways/Ratio-00-Trackside-Series-Overhead-Traversing-Crane.html
  4. Cheers! I've years of work to do on it, have barely made it down just the first 20 foot of boards so far
  5. Having said that, in the last three weeks, loads of stock and locos have 'escaped' their boxes onto Amiens Street - so much so that I have to shunt them into the terminus to make way for work
  6. Cheers Rich - you're very kind! I focus on the bits i know I can do well, like the wiring and shortly, computer control etc. If anyone wants a closer look at anything I've botched together, more photos, etc, just let me know! Another few weeks and I will hopefully have the entire terminus and yards fully operation, wired up, all the motors in and basic computer and route control working. To be honest, without computer route control, trying to negotiate that station throat would be a disaster
  7. Maybe if I play my card's right
  8. Cheers Herbie - entire focus is on operating for now, so most of the work is under the board Next week I'll fit block circuit breaks, finally set up the DPDT switch for the programming track, and install a new bus for the motors, and a 12V DC bus for lighting (with periodic switch panels) ! Soldering every single track piece is slowing me down, but will hopefully be worth it - I've perfect voltage in every single inch of the layout so far, so operations should be 'less' stressful
  9. Looking absolutely stunning :)
  10. They do Big push next week to get the track down under it :):):) Thanks again !! Highly recommended folks!!
  11. Fascinating to watch!! Amazing feat of engineering!
  12. Bit of a pictorial update this: I am going to replace the flouro tubes in the attic with 'daylight' LED lighting, and much more of it - as you can see from the pics, the lighting is dreadful for photography (albeit with an iPhone too!) Main news is full operation now on everything laid, the single running shed will now be used as a little wagon works, and a hoist has been installed out front. A small gantry crane is being tested for the freight roads - oh, and the engine shed has ARRIVED!! (and trust me, these photos don't some close to doing it justice!) If you want something done - talk to Glenderg on the forums!!
  13. I've used him before too for odd spares - good lad.
  14. He fought the good fight and got the result that was right!
  15. Anything else he asks?? :) http://www.irishrailmodels.com A dozen of everything please
  16. You could try wall mount it, fold it up with the wall?
  17. Looks like the light board wee bit of melting! Chip actually looks untouched! Will have to do further testing
  18. Hope so, not entirely sure why the set didn't trip out first, the pliers were 'half' across the line so I'm assume the short wasn't very 'complete' or something. Will have to do more thorough shorting tests tomorrow!
  19. There was some light, some smoke and a bad smell Am hoping it's just the chip! Need to install some circuit breakers I think, the Lenz didn't trip out fast enough
  20. Rule no. 11 of layout building, take the pliers OFF the layout BEFORE you turn on the power. A poor bachmann 150 is toast
