  1. Fwiw I'd take a few too!
  2. Aha! It's set to 1200x768 max at the moment. Is that a native size for a phone or camera?
  3. Amazing. All the more so in O! I guess Pete exemplifies what we'd all do if we had more money than we could spend
  4. What size and format were the images? I can try much about and allow larger ones
  5. A truly golden age of loco haulage
  6. God they evoke memories Where did you get the ads?!
  7. Hmm, you could well be right Anthony - the iron is a draper from halfords. Think it was 20 quid. That said, the tips are handy enough, I buy a pack of 5 on ebay for a tenner, so maybe I just have to accept they are a bit rubbish and treat them as semi disposable!
  8. Quick update but no photos today Got all the points between the platforms and the mainline down today (the station throat). 7 large points, 3 medium a double slip and a crossover all adjusted, frog isolated, droppers soldered, laid, glued and set Phew! Hopefully tomorrow I'll get a few snaps once the glue has gone off and I can take the weights off the trackwork This was the big bit that was scaring me from my planning days and I'm happy to say that, as long as you just focus on each point as an individual, and go through the steps carefully, there is nothing more to it than laying a single point
  9. Here is a brand new soldering iron tip, and what mine looks like after about 1 hours use. I tinned the tip well, keep it clean after use and wipe down with a damp sponge every few minutes of use, I don't leave it 'on' unattended or when not being used for more than a few minutes,.... I guess the question is, short of buying spare tips regularly, is this just how corrosive modern lead-free solder is?!
  10. You are a non stop inspiration sir!
  11. Looks absolutely spot on! A master of understatement
  12. Another vote here for soldering, if you need the flexibility to be able to move / disconnect, then solder links to the bus and the track, and connect both with a choc block / terminal.
  13. Not too many people traveling in first class perhaps these days!
  14. Beautiful shots Csalem - with the traffic all over here, you probably don't need to bother posting duplicates to the old forum
  15. Even sounds like it
  16. I've also popped 20's in, and superglued them about two thirds in. They work grand, and are neater than the ones that came with the cravens.
  17. Wow, wow, wow and yes, again wow!
  18. Layout looks good Aramand! Maybe stick up some shots in the layout area?!
