  1. Simplest to say it had run its course. As a third party system we were at the vagaries of yuku and had no ownership of the data. This site is self hosted so we remain in full control of all we survey. This also ensures the sites longevity and preserves the posts ( a previous yuku site has disappeared as has an even earlier man groups system) In short, this is an upgrade
  2. Then hopefully a chat with Glenderg about getting a certain shed into it's new home ;)
  3. Got the boards braced up nicely and pushed back into place and leveled. Another 'invisible' job that needed to be done Got a DPDT switch today too, so will wire up a programming track / mainline switch thingie and post it once done Tomorrow hopefully will see the freight sidings laid and powered and a few hours soldering to bring the carriage sidings and pwd yard online also
  4. Washed? Washed? What is this washing I hear you speak of?
  5. My favourite is 'You're not PLAYING with those TRAINS again are ye?!'
  6. She'll hardly stay that clean for long :)
  7. Excellent! Stuck it in the calendar http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=16&day=2012-8-18

  9. I was there last year - was perfect day for it (light rain )
  10. Sweet thanks! I need to look into getting one soon myself!
  11. Nice work and a great improvement! What make/model airbrush did you get?
  12. [video=youtube;xVryuO5h-fo]
  13. You'll find the tip will blacken from the flux in the solder itself - wipe it down when finished and melt more solder all over the tip before cooling. I followed that tip (to tin the tip really well - after - each use) and am getting much better life and heat transfer now! (also be careful with modern steel tips, not to clean them too abrasively, as if you break or crack the coating, the tip will erode very quickly!)
  14. Looks like great fun! Any more overall shots?
  15. Good idea. Wonder could you trade in stock
  16. No bother at all - drop me a line and I can call you on Monday?
  17. Couldn't recommend the digital cobalts enough - ridiculously simple to use - two wires in, one to the frog - done!
  18. Can't go wrong for a quid! I've one of these for the kids - grand little yokes! I was able to stick pictures of all the thomas locos on it (it has ten loco address buttons on the front) so it was a doddle for them to use!
  19. Been a bit busy lately, but got upstairs for an hour today and got the freight yard basically down and foam backing glued down, and did a bit of a tidy and glued in some cosmetic missing sleepers, etc. Over the weekend I hope to finish the bracing so i can push the boards back into place and tidy up the stock storage and get stuck into finishing the wiring (yay! )
  20. Can't have enough big Irish layouts if you ask me Should be a queue round the block for your sheds Glenderg Stunning amount and variety of stock wiggy!
  21. Try these lads on the frogs http://www.tamvalleydepot.com/products/hexfrogjuicer.html They auto-handle the frog polarity by detecting if there is a short, and swapping it. Get great reviews.
