Maybe next time the country has a "heritage week".!

Thank you, doesn't seem to be in a very convenient position for topping up!

I do like the grey (or is it silver). If you look at the photo you cannot but smile at the belt and braces approach regarding the lighting arrangements. There are the marker lights ,the main very bright lights high up and in the corner platform side we have...an oil lamp! Will the B126 model have the oil lamp? If so will there be a switch underneath to light it up? PS I never noticed the filler spout just before the high up hand rail before.

A police officer came to my door last night and asked where I was between 4 and 5. He seemed irritated when I said "Kindergarten". …………………………………………………………………………………….. My wife left me because of my obsession with horoscopes. In the end it just Taurus apart. How will I be able to pick up the Pisces? …………………………………………………………………………………………..

Reading lately. "They who dream by day are cognisant of many things which escape those who dream only by night." Edgar Allan Poe in "Eleonora". "All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, to make it possible". T.E. Lawrence "Seven Pillars of Wisdom". Both express similar sentiments though Poe put it more succinctly. Also methinks that Lawrence had read Poe

Is there any existing footage of CIE unboxing the 121's? I'm interested in how they got the loco out of the foam without damaging any of the fragile parts. Was the gantry crane used in conjunction with the plastic inlay? The Murphy Models site has this warning "Please ALWAYS use the internal wrap to remove AND replace the loco in its box. Damage caused as a result of rough/careless handling or body removal cannot be covered by warranty." I was wondering if EMD had a similar proviso for the 121 locos supplied to CIE.

The bottom line comes down to sales for Mr Murphy. If Mr Murphy gets his models sold then that is mission accomplished for him. I bought MM 071 and 201 locos from Irish suppliers and not even a thank you slip included in the order. If someone can save €20 on a MM 121 loco then that is a €20 discount on the forthcoming "A" class which they might not have been able to buy otherwise. This benefits the IRM contingent. 121 and "A" class locos will sell to a specific group of people. It does not matter how many of these models a retailer puts on the shelves they will hardly be an impulse buy. A father going into a retail shop with a son or daughter to get some "trains" is not going to buy either the 121 or an "A" class loco. They have a specific customer base. The C19 will have had an effect on this regarding people's finances. If it comes down to buying from Rails or Hattons or not buying at all because of the saving this is still a benefit to Irish Modelling as the sale has been made.

And it's a goodnight from him and it's a goodnight from me.

Right I have to do some drilling but I don't suitable oil to help the lubrication. I have heard that Ann Summers stock lubricating oil, would that do as a substitute or will I just grind away?

Might be worth setting the recorder...or as behoves some of us, getting the wife to set it. 1960. Factual. Directed by James Ritchie. The 'Blue Pullman', a new diesel train liaising between Manchester and St. Pancras is prepared for its grand inaugural journey. Then again it is probably on Youtube somewhere.

The Government in Egypt has asked the city's taxi drivers to drive around Cairo sounding their car horns. It is hoped that the familiar sounds of the city will induce a return to tranquillity and normality following the recent pandemic. Operation Toot 'n Calm 'Em will last for the rest of the week.

My work van went in for a service. It appeared the hand brake cable needed tightened but this piece of work was not on that mileage service schedule. So the garage doing the service phoned the company I worked for about this "additional" work and subsequent cost. My company phoned the lease company who owned the van. They phoned the garage to tell them to tighten the handbrake cable and to add in the "additional" costs to the bill.

Came across this online. PROSES PLB-902 Rotating Loco Cradle https://www.modellbahnshop-lippe.com/Tool/Tool/PROSES-PLB-902/gb/modell_225212.html I put mine in some pipe insulation or in a notch cut into three Pringles containers taped together. I suppose if this were fixed to a bench it would give good access. I suppose there are similar items out there but I just thought I would put this up. 86,00 €

NMJ The above are HO by NMJ and are €199 for the basic. Sound equipped is extra. They do other liveries as well. Here is the NMJ Topline Nohab Collection https://en.nmj.eu/nmj/nmj-nohab-collection.html?p=5

Probably has them delivered in a gigantic Russian aircraft, which would be pretty sore on fuel. That would go someway to explaining the high cost.

€200 would see me throwing in my hand and exiting from the table.

Both Rails and Hattons are quoting £145.50 which equates to €162.38 at today's rate. Rails say the full MMRP is £167.5 which equates to €186.95.

Nothing to do with trains but some nice photos from January 2013. Despite the gloom it was before 12 noon.

Some years ago my wife and her sister took their mother shopping. One of the things on the list was a new bra for the mother in law. Anyway the expedition was made, the bra was bought and fitted and the old one dumped in the backseat of the car. There the bra lay in full view of anyone looking in the window. Of course I drove around and parked up for quite sometime without spotting the aforementioned garment. It finally came to light when I was in the local builder provider's yard and I went to fold down the seats. Enough said.

This has been on the go for years. You can see where the chain saw occasionally cuts the cross timbers but I just renew them as necessary. If you look at the "V" you should just make out the carpet gripper. The mainframe always stays intact.

Yep, small outfit who appreciate your custom.

Just thought I would put this up. RB Models in Tipperary still have some Murphy Model 201 class for sale. They have four models, 2x NIR blue and 2x Enterprise livery. It might save someone trawling EBAY if they want one. They are €180 each. I know the interest is on the forth coming "A"'s and 121's at the moment but it might benefit someone. Here is the link. I have no connection at all with the shop but I have bought some locos from them in the past .https://rbmodels.ie/product-category/trains/locomotives/
