  1. Sounds good! I can't wait to see pictures of her when she's finished
  2. Welcome Jamie For your layout it can be big in a small space if you are willing to be able to stack it up against the wall or something and when you want to use it just set it on trestles , I'm currently making a layout by this method it's 6x3 in a tiny space , I hope I haven't confused you
  3. Brilliant!
  4. =))=)) I'd say it was great fun being in that car
  5. A 3 pack at a reduced rate would be great , my top choices would be beet, ballast and bagged cement
  6. Thanks lads I might be able to get a video by the weekend
  7. Thanks Richie In person and in proper light the J15 is very shiny as apposed to the original matt finish before varnish The Mk 3 isn't so bad because I weathered it afterwards
  8. Here are two things I'm going to enter into the MRSI competition First is my J15I detailed it and weathered it using weathering powders, however the last job to do, the varnishing went wrong. What I thought was matt varnish turned out to be gloss Here are the results I also made the same mistake with a Mk 3 buffet I converted to the Irish style, the varnish was matt instead of gloss
  9. No problem, I'm glad you're happy with it
  10. Sounds good, I'm looking forward to see how it turns out

  21. Thanks lads I can't wait to get started on the new layout I'd like to have it principally steam and easier to move than the old one as I'd like to bring it to an exhibition
  22. Thanks Dave I'd just like to add thanks to everyone that helped me with all the problems that occurred throughout the build
  23. I've only discovered this thread now and it a brilliant history lesson It's sad to think of how long ago it was when we had loco hauled stock
  24. Excellent work I remember when I was younger whenever i was near north wall I would see these wagons and that was probably one of the reasons I got into trains
  25. I've decided that after about 8 months of the layout moving nowhere it is time to dismantle it, because even if I got the point motors to work there are too many flaws in the track laying for trains to operate properly So to substitute the old layout I am going to build a small 6 by 3 layout for exhibitions with less complicated wiring I'll start building the layout as soon as funds rise high enough to get track and scenery I will start a new thread to facilitate the new layout
