  1. Well, he sold them for over €45 each plus that postage bill !
  2. Good advice. Will do. I offered a guy on the site a million dollars for a loco. He declined. Must be the exchange rate! :-))
  3. Will do. Thanks Heirflick. GSr region was home in the old country
  4. Yes, the US GN looks like super train to me!
  5. Thanks, Heirflick. Let me try to research GSR 670 class. Maybe I can make the "N" an "S"!
  6. Hi Warbonnet, That was my impression that this was a GNR (UK) rather than a GNR(I) loco and possibly never ran "here" i.e. there, I'm not in Ireland anymore :-(
  7. Hi Folks, I'm considering using this loco to go run with some Woolies and maybe NCC Jinty. Want to equip it with DCC and got some good advice from another thread on the DCC installs on the Woolie and NCC. Was this loco ever actually used up north or only in Scotland/LNER East Coast Mainline. Only reference I have is Hornby's own website which is not overly informative. If anyone has it, does it run pretty well? I think it have a 5-pole motor and I think the chassis is isolated and DCC-equipable. Thanks, Kevin
  8. Appreciate that! Thanks. It'll be a while. I'm trying to plan twice and cut once.....
  9. You're right, the ones in Portalington only have a small hood in mid-wagon whet the split is
  10. Looked them up and downloaded manual for later reference. Looks good! Ty! Kevin
  11. Thank you very much for the advice and the link! Kevin
  12. Good morning guys, Very helpful advice. Need to know before I invest any more cash in them. Space us even tighter in a Jinty I'm thinking? Still doable as for the woolwich? Kevin
  13. Super Models and layout! Can I ask abut the footbridge? Were did you get it? Is this an authentic model because it looks a lot better than some I've seen?
  14. Well done, GM 171! Thanks for taking the time. Super shots of 219 with those timber wagons. Just what i needed. No chance of seeing them from here so really appreciate the video. Ty! Kevin
  15. Thanks Rich for starting this thread and to everyone for their replies. I'm just starting to build and trying to make it DCC. Can anyone advise on point/signal control with DCC, please? Same controller (too complicated?), separate system with some sort of light system to show the state of the circuits 'at a glance'? What works for those of you who have achieved this? Thank you Kevin
  16. I think 078 and 7078 have the same problem although I presume it was painted to black/silver before getting the all over grey so unlikely to be running on the same layout, I guess?
  17. Hi Rich, I agree with you about the Grey and 111/113. The others are Eur160 which is a lot more than in the thread. They must have been having a sale at that point! Missed it :-(
  18. Saw this thread. Looking at 071s. A lot has changed at the model shop in a couple of months - Eur175!
  19. Hi, Has anyone ever run these locos on DCC? I have a Woolwich and thinking about some more plus some NCC Jinties. It appears that they have "No DCC Provision" per the IRM catalogue.I have no idea if they have an isolated chassis, I presume they have no DCC socket but it might be possible to solder a chip if chassis was actually isolated? I have NO experience with this. If anyone has done it with a mini Lenz chip or something can you advise how difficult it is to do and whether the outcome is reliable? This is my first ever post so if it's in the wrong forum please let me know. Thanks, Kevin
  20. Fantastic link, Warbonnet! OMG! Some beautiful machines here...

  22. Hello, Brand new to IRM so couldn't message you before now. Will make offer on cravens when I figure out how to PM
