Its a shame alright, used to enjoy RMweb, despite its natural BR outline focus, however it was a phenomenal resource on modelling technologies, different building approaches, everything from lining, painting, building to electronics, custom track tech, and scenics with many thousands of contributors due population demographics across the sea. However since the introduction of membership fees and all those pop up adverts its nigh impossible to use so regretfully I just don't bother anymore. As a content contributor I refuse to also pay for ad free use. Its free enterprise their choice as is mine to 'click' less and contribute even less. Unfortunately Its become like one of those tacky red top tabloid news papers in the UK with ads all over the place. Not sure how well that will go down with most of their contributors who are from a social conservative demographic. IRM forum web forum by contrast is clean, fluid and has grown significantly with top class model contributors now on here, so less need to tip over to rmWeb to check how to do this or that, or where to get some obscure modelling item. Facebook groups have become a great resource also, but lack the structure and search ability for retrieval of specific past content. In other special interest sphere's I've seen large new forae in the past after a period of growth destroy themselves when they attempt to monetise content and got it wrong, one had 20,000 active members but was wiped out by itself in just 12months as members just walked, it has not existed since 2014. Aside from that FaceBook has taken traffic from BB forums of all types. YBW with its half million members, nearly went up in smoke over brexit civil war between contributors when they re-platformed a few yeas ago and it went a bit wrong with advertising balance. We are fortunate perhaps not to have too many competing Irish companies looking to access the same online space. IRM and Murphy Models are both so well established and MM seem to have become almost like Tesla don't even need to advertise nor market new products. We live in a golden age right now, nothing lasts forever so, let's just make hay while the sun shines and enjoy these days of bounty for Irish Railway Modelling. Some really great content on here with its focus is naturally on the Irish railway scene, also some amazing historical contributors such as Ernie's archive. Jonathan's superb photos have been the right way up for the past 4 years, so its onwards and upwards for IRM forum. Perhaps as IRM/Accurascale now has a significant brand presence in the UK there is now room for an IRMweb, or Accuweb over there? Long may this last, thanks to the IRM company for hosting this excellent BB.

Hattons normally handle this via DDP the parcel should just arrive as Hattons are registered for VAT in ROI. Assuming the correct paper work was with the parcel from Hattons. Let An Post send it back to Hattons and let Hattons resend with the correct paperwork. They are normally brilliant at this. I've used them ever since brexit no problems.

Easter Sunday & Monday 2022 WMRC 12th Annual Easter Exhibition takes place on Easter Sunday 17th April (12:00-18:00) and Easter Monday 18th April (11:00 - 17:00) at St Joseph's Community Centre, Newline Road, Wexford Town, Y35 A66C. As in they should cancel everything that they have ready to announce this year, or they should make no announcements next year for the following year? Eh No as simply stated above, I am simply content with the models I already have, so very happy to wait for the fullness of time to reveal anything new that may be of interest. Never have Irish modellers had it so good, and abundance of models, the glass is not half full, its completely overflowing at this stage. I am content Seriously perhaps give IRM a break from business enterprise, its hard work. Still hopeful Parkroyals with opening doors, lights, and DCC brake sounds are in the pipeline

Delighted to receive a JM Design CIE 20ton Goods brake van. Superbly packaged and detailed model. Perfect for my 1955 to 1975 era. This model travelled around the world 3 times to get hear thanks to An Post. Its done about 48,000km from NZ to here, back to NZ, back to here yesterday. Anyway delighted it made it. Interesting what could cause a flat spot like that? brakes sized on startup, or running for a mile with axle stopped due unbalanced braking on a lightly loaded wagon? Just curious, I’m sure some of the railway men on here might know. Must have generated spectacular heat.

Yip and weighting wagons close to NMRA standards greatly helps shunting operations and magnetic uncoupling use.

Another problem with REMs is they can be so strong they pull on wagon axles causing a snatch or bounce motion. The under track kadee magnets work well, even the between the rails kadee flat magnets can be disguise to look like part of a walkway.

That's extraordinary, I had to take a double take after seeing the first photo to check if it was real or a photo of a model scene. Superb in every way.

We have high quality RTR locos of: 141/181 071 201 121 A From the 1970s model train perspective we are now living in a virtual Utopia. Back then just the Hornby Hymek horror show and the Lima supersonic BR Class 33 tractor masquerading as a CIE 215 A class. Just Lima BR mk1 coaches in B&T Livery. Then came along St Patrick, followed 20 years later by Stephen, Fran, Patrick and Richard of Antioch. Not forgetting important players along the way such as MIR, IFM, SF, SSM, PW, D&M, CD and OO Works. We are very fortunate to have a rich abundance of genuine Irish Model trains. It's not that long ago that this was all we had. The Lima tractor that ran at a scale speed of 200mph but in 1975 it seemed amazing to have anything in Tan livery. Bought from W J Owens in Bray circa 1975. A content train modeller saved perhaps by accidentally visiting Malahide Castle in 2008 and seeing an MM Baby GM on display no 182 and nearly fell of my seat in disbelief.

MM229 hauling Tony Mirolo resprays doesn't look bad even though its 40 years beyond my modelling era. Time travel is permissible on ones layout, especially when CIE B&T B121 trundles past this formation on the inside loop hauling loose coupled stock. 201 doesn't look bad when dressed properly
