  1. From what I can tell, its a creamy white It has a warm tone, and so often shows up as outright yellow in photos, but it is a creamy white.
  2. I'm here squinting at the CAD and noticed Maedb even has the smokebox door dart protruding as prototypical...There's not a thing ye've missed! My one question, presumably the reversing lever will be a metal separately fitted detail? I'm very interested to see how the loco-tender coupling arrangement will work.
  3. Edit: Flying Snail, as mentioned by...well...Flying Snail... Maedb looked to have received a fresh coat of paint in the early 60s following her preservation (though its hard to track what went on exactly). No longer technically being an in service CIE locomotive, she received no snail. The G S was a Cultra addition. I'd be very interested in any additional photographs, audio, history, etc, that the Lads have gathered to bring the models to life. It's interesting to see a clearer image of the photo of an out of service B1a at Glanmire Road shed. This featured in A Second Glance as being Tailte, but the clearer scan shows it's almost certainly Macha, which fits much better with the evidence, as there are several other photos of 801 at the shed during the late 50s. The class was somewhat camera shy it seemed, Tailte by far the most, strange considering she racked up the highest mileage of the three! I'll be selling off a rake of British stuff to help pay for them!
  4. The Peckett would be a wonderful little model. IRM could make hay with them similar to Bachmann and the Quarry Hunslets
  5. I was sure they would announce them back when the beet was announced! Once IRM announced the Hunslets, it showed the 800s would come down the tracks sooner or later. Sure if they are in the mood for a MGWR 4-4-0, I won't stand in their way!
  6. What was once only a dream has become a glorious reality! I will be completely bankrupt!
  7. Interestingly, Rapido has just released its LMS 5 plank wagon. Perhaps IRM could get on the bandwagon with Rapido and make some CIE versions?
  8. Agree on J15 being unlikely short term WT is very possible S class Have a good chance, but I always put them behind the.. ..V class, which stand a pretty good chance. Lack of GNRI coaches hurts them a bit, but Merlin is active RPSI Can't discount the 800s when IRM have the three Hunslets. And you can haul PRs behind them. Q class and T2s especially would be wonderful, love the T2s, but alas my top three in terms of most likely candidates, in no particular order are.. V class, 800 class, WTs Steam wildcards are a J26 or Sambo since you mentioned tanks. On the off chance its a diesel, C class.
  9. It's definitely not Mullingar.
  10. CAF Cheap as fuck, and indeed they were. Half will stay at Connolly, half will be sent down to Cork, AFAIK. As mentioned they'll be needed for the likes of the Longford Commuters and to act as spares to the Dart + And on that note, they are now moving under their own power! https://twitter.com/IrishRail/status/1892869837900099915

    IRM Is Changing

    What'll be in stock?
  12. IR are asking a lot from the 201s and DDs at their age with the increased service. Don't expect the new stock to come in till 2030, more likely 33. DDs and Locos will be approaching 40 by then! Increased service = more trains on the same tracks as Darts = more delays. Longterm solutions in terms of infrastructure will need to be quad track out to Drogheda, and sorting out the bottleneck at Connolly. Keep fingers crossed new rolling stock is reliable.
  13. I didn't realise they were building the bertie bowl again?
  14. Both are scheduled slots for DDs AFAIK, but if one fails, the alternative will be something else, barring the occasional amalgamation of a service.
  15. I commissioned it from @Killian Keane of Small Loco Works, who designs and prints 3d models to an excellent standard. I'd be very interested in seeing the 7 1/4 gauge 800!
  16. I suppose theres an aspect of humour in calling a locomotive Faugh a Ballagh, clear the road indeed... The MGWR were clearly forward thinking calling one of their locos Erin go Bragh! Built a year before the Rising too.
  17. And with the hourly service are being asked to do much more in their old age. Don't really know what people expect, if a DD or 6-car ICR goes down, there's only so much regulators and inspectors can do to juggle around and figure out what they can make up the train with. If you've bought first class you should be refunded for the difference. Regarding seating, sometimes the reservation system doesn't work (usually some kind of technical issue when they change ends) but otherwise, if you've booked a seat and somebody is sitting in it, you can tell them its your seat. If they are the very occasional prick who doesn't care and wants to hog, the CSO will tell them what's what. People are not telepathic. I cannot speak to what its like in England.
  18. I raise you a hymek going for 250 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/135481139616?mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338722076&customid=&toolid=10050&amdata=enc%3AAQAJAAAAoHoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKkOu%2Bj8qEJO8FLCJ6t0flB32Cv1jSvfSPYzcQtQMITQI2c84XkeD546AEdq4AEa4IZs4Mnr5SgianiGfgDPYiOGM0UqG%2FkUar%2BuistFLJ7OWIZa4yWEr8AXiXzHColvaKm%2FcrbpITyMqACH9QgQwklXCHc2IydQ9lf8XTeilRqRF%2BQUCLQH0zKr%2FrvB9R2SY2U%3D
  19. No.800 Maedbh shunts an extra carriage onto her train at Dublin's Abbey Street station, on a damp and dreary, or as its better known in Ireland, a 'soft' day in the mid nineteen fifties
  20. Class 201 no. 8208 River Lagan is up for sale again, for 180 euros. It has a good box, it's a good runner, and an open detail bag.
  21. Multiple locos and railcars for sale. If anyone's interested will provide videos of them running. Bachmann Spectrum N&W J class no. 610, 300 euro. Good box, good runner. Bachmann A1 Tornado: 150 euro. Poor box. Good runner Hornby weathered flying scotsman in br green. Smokebox detail picked out, dart missing. Good box, good runner. 175 euro Hornby K1 mogul. Missing lamp bracket. Good box, good runner. 120 euro Hornby weathered Q1. Good box, good runner. I've removed part of the linkage (lubricator?), as it was loose when I bought it. 140 euro Hornby 2 Bil EMU. Good box, good runner. 140 euro
  22. 20241225_110402.mp4 Testing to see if this video works. I'll try to have more variety in future!
