  1. If it has pick-ups from the rails and it has a DC motor (which it will have), then it can be DCCed, subject to the practicalities of breaking into the wiring and hiding the extra gubbins successfully.
  2. Gaugemaster still supply similar units - http://www.gaugemaster.com/modules.html .

  7. You don't have to be Indian to be blasé about railway tracks - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-34065369 - that's on a Southern Region track, where the third rail was (luckily for him) isolated for some work going on - normally it would be 750 volts and would kill you now.
  8. Is that true? The inside rail is connected to the outside rail, and vice versa. I don't see it working.

  16. Another "We Fit" lorry didn't - just up the road from the last one... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-34026667
  17. At the time, it will have probably seemed quite plausible - then, after the delay of the war, Alcock & Brown, Lindberg, bigger and faster liners, and the general economic state will have caused people to think again. And the fact that it would be located in a different state from a lot of its market...... Trans-Atlantic flights to Knock may be its modern legacy?
  18. This starts on BBC2 next Monday - for those that have access - and those can stomach Dan Snow... http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02xxsb5
  19. Mostly here - http://ionaddeirbhile.ie/deirbhiles-blog/blacksod-bay-railway-terminus - and Google searches - it looks like WW1 put paid to it initially and, of course, it wasn't resurrected after the war, for many reasons.
  20. Found it - http://irishrailwaymodeller.com/showthread.php/1416-New-Recruit!!?p=21672#post21672 .
  21. Somebody was talking about it once - I can't find it now, though - maybe it was on the old site...?
