  1. Have you ever considered embarking upon a career with Bord Failte?
  2. The rain on that Welsh layout was just so reminiscent of driving up the A5 in the '70s - somehow, the A55 is so much less miserable... I am not actually a real person - sorry to disappoint you. My 'collection' of so-called 'real people' so far is :- The Train Man Robert Davies Heir-flick Murrayec Dave Mike 84C I know that nobody else really exists......
  3. New 'dazzle ship' expected next month - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-31081468 . Mersey ferry to be re-painted by Sir Peter Blake. It might be in a different style, this is his sort of thing....
  4. It will happen - the timescale is all that is in question, I think. They 'sent' a special tool up to the Space Station the other day and printed it out there and then - http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/30560063 .
  5. During the testing for the enormous 'Kangaroo' missile, seen here.. .. a MiG 19 was carried aloft and successfully launched. Edit - some footage.
  6. Ah, right - I'm still in IE mode from the coupling question. Carry on, nothing to see here..
  7. MM5602 with black roof. MM5609 with orange roof. I think..
  8. They are amazingly tight. I picked up a pair of coaches at the Stafford show yesterday and so I had them handy to have a go at. They do start to move if you squeeze the ends together first, but they're still more reluctant to come out than I am determined to make them.. I found it better to remove the bogie and release the carrier* from the coach, to avoid any mishaps, but it was still more difficult than I was prepared for.. *Taking care not to lose the tiny spring.
  9. Finally found a picture of the 'ladder incident'... ..airports around the world made more professional-looking stairway extensions as it moved into service... ..and the larger 'civil' fuselage became the basis for the Tu 126 'Moss' AEW aircraft.
  10. I-ran that theory through earlier......
  11. ..the last three.. And a Welsh layout with appropriate weather approaching.
  12. ..and more.. And an automated layout.
  13. ..and on to other things.. Some big fiddle yards..
  14. ..and the stock in the yards..
  15. Right, pictures - Abhainn an Scail first, of course.
  16. Some of the smaller Tupolevs are deliverable by helicopter, if you have one big enough... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_pictures/8002147.stm
  17. A few years ago, I took what I think is a rather nice picture out of the window of one.
  18. Found this, as well.. http://www.railpictures.net/images/d1/6/6/5/4665.1080891180.jpg

  20. At this one, in Stoke - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-stoke-staffordshire-31083638 - they're fitting 'sacrificial' beams, as it gets struck so often.
  21. Make sure that your landscaping is sound - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-oxfordshire-31081630 . I think it's this bank here - https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Harbury+Tunnel+in+Warwickshire&ie=UTF8&hq=tunnel+in+warwickshire&hnear=&ll=52.238944,-1.448575&spn=0.002888,0.004823&t=h&z=18&vpsrc=6 - it's done it before...
  22. This is Hungarian, I think, although it's in Linz, Austria. Similar in style, certainly. http://www.4rail.net/reference_locoseur_electric_taurus.php
  23. A bridge strike in GB - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-31083118 .
  24. Well, I've just returned from what was a great show - an Irish layout, a few Welsh ones, a couple of continentals, but no US ones. Nice to meet Mike 84*, and the extremely nice Mrs 84, who did seem very well trained. Pictures later...... * That's six people that I've seen in real life now...
  25. That bottom ticket is a gem. About fifteen years ago, I had my ticket punched by a girl who looked about fifteen - they had, I presume, let her choose her own punch and she had picked a heart-shaped one - and I had got in the first-class by accident - and she had decided to let me off....
