  1. And, with hardboard, it's fairly easy to curve the corners, which results in a much nicer impression of reality - no 'corners in the sky'..
  2. A friend of mine is a bus nut and I got roped into getting this thing going again and getting it from Dover to Stafford (without a blue light). Might be of some interest - https://plus.google.com/photos/105618325540295927305/albums/5311855810537159425?banner=pwa - he doesn't have it now, though, I'm not sure where it went.
  3. Bridge a smidge too low for the fridge?
  4. Perhaps we should run a rival tour - The Orange Quest - arriving back at 20:11, of course..............?
  5. Other pineapples are available in Colbert station. This is Valerie O'Connor. "During our journey Valerie O’Connor, author of Bread on the Table, will introduce us to the delights of pineapple cusine, and remind us of the 1970s when canned pineapple cubes and suchlike were a popular treat. Tuesday, 12 August: Colbert Station at 4.00 pm The train departs from Limerick at 5.00 pm and arrives back at 8.00 pm"
  6. This is Tara Maloney in Colbert Station. "Tara Maloney of White Dove Nurseries takes William Roche’s account of his garden as a starting point for her project of cultivating a Limerick pineapple. Replicating traditional horticultural methods, she will take a shoot and force its growth. The Limerick Pineapple will then begin the short journey from Colbert Station to the White Dove Nursery in Lucky Lane off Catherine Street where it will be nurtured to maturity over the next two years." We might need to keep an eye on this for the next two years...
  7. That's almost all I can find out about it - there's little else online that I can find. I'll get some more pictures next year, hopefully.....
  8. A couple of pictures of Abhainn an Scail. Well worth a visit, if you're not too far away.
  9. I'll be over in a few weeks - I might just hide a pineapple there and see if they find it.
  10. I'm not really too sure what this is all about, but it involved a return trip from Limerick to Ballybrophy the other day. http://thepineapplequest.com/events/ Any journeys on that line are to be welcomed.......
  11. It was close, but I managed to hold off long enough - phew!!
  12. Thank God you were so quick, I nearly did some work.....
  13. The 'airbrush' is more of a mini-spraygun than an airbrush - but, there's nothing to stop you using the compressor to feed a 'real' airbrush later on.
  14. A quick look through shows that Abhainn an Scail http://www.tdlr.info/news/abhainnanscailannascaulmodelrailway - is booked, although they've managed to misspell it...
  15. Details of next year's exhibition have become available. - Saturday 31st of January and Sunday 1st of February - promises of 40+ layouts and a bit more canteen space - also some alterations to the parking arrangements. 10-5 on Saturday and 10-4:30 on Sunday. £9. http://www.staffordrailwaycircle.org.uk/exhibition.php Always a good do.
  16. This might be of some interest to those of a certain age - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04d11l6 - it's not on until four o'clock, but then it'll be on iPlayer for at least a week after - sometimes takes an hour or two to appear on Listen Again.
  17. Indeed - people are fitting flashing blue LEDs now, too.
  18. Lima did produce a Police-liveried 37 - I saw one today for £55, presumably due to the rarity value.
  19. As much as I like the idea of the Nenagh branch, I remember getting off a Cork train at Ballybrophy once, when there was a replacement bus service for Nenagh passengers. About five people got off with me. My onward lift was a little late that day, and it became clear that there were no passengers for Nenagh at all..... I worry about the water tower, too - it is cordoned off these days and quite a bit of the concrete has spalled off.
  20. That was on the A51 - the B52 is nearer to you - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B52_road_(Northern_Ireland) ...
  21. And a bridge strike a couple of miles from me.. Here - https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=stafford&ll=52.817105,-2.004446&spn=0.000712,0.001206&hnear=Stafford,+United+Kingdom&gl=uk&t=h&z=20&layer=c&cbll=52.817105,-2.004446&panoid=UnrM3p0ZjgqVpJNnh1-yqQ&cbp=12,288.98,,0,-3.1
  22. Banned! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-east-wales-28704512
  23. There will be a (very) short exam at the end.
  24. A sort of can-opener/spoon - a bit daft, all right... Yanks had a similar thing. The British had the 'Baby' can-opener, at the bottom, made a bit more sense.
