  10. I was implying that it might be looked on more favourably, if it was not miles away from the 'important people'. I have no wish for it to be in London, but there can be a tendency here for things out in the sticks to be viewed in a less favourable light...
  11. There are threats to close some museums in northern England as funding is diverted elsewhere - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-22871592 - the NRM in York is one of those at risk. Maybe if it was in London it might fare better...?
  12. That sounds better.
  13. A glance at their Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Boyle-Model-Railway/376416649140480 - suggests that it might currently only be open on Fridays - 10 until 4 - although other times may be possible by prior arrangement...
  14. I found a lump of turf in the road and decided to bring it back here for a ceremonial fire. I got stopped at the Customs in Holyhead at half-two in the morning and searched. As stuff was being lifted systematically out of my bag, I was asked "What's this?" and managed to answer suitably at each stage - until he came upon the object wrapped in newspaper at the bottom. "What's this?", he asked again - I hesitated, not wanting to say "Sod" to the nice English customs man. This provoked him into a forensic examination of the brown, fibrous material that he discovered on unwrapping it - well, he broke off a bit and sniffed it - hoping that he'd discovered a major trafficking operation. At this point, all his mates, who had stopped their searches to watch him, burst out laughing.
  15. Most impressive.
  16. Really? Looking nice and filthy, I thought...

  20. My agent will be attending Mark's today. He says that the real thing should be in Collins for about two months. I'll see if I can get him to get some good shots of it and then bang them up on here. A whole squadron...?
  21. Just got an email from Marks Models saying that they should be having the 1/72 Heller Fouga Magister kit, with transfers for 215, in their shops from today. https://www.marksmodels.com/?pid=16832#URL:https://www.marksmodels.com/?pid=16832%23 And, with impeccable timing, Magister 216 has just arrived on dislpay at Collins Barracks, for those that want some detail shots...
  22. Indeed, but into a car... Anyway, are those Curragh sheep really small? Or were they just far away...?
  23. It was always my habit to sit at the back of the third carriage, when boarding at Heuston - that way, you get a less crowded carriage and you're next to the bridge steps if it's raining when you get to Ballybrophy.
  24. Bridge strike at Portarlington today - around half one. All running again soon after..
