  1. The usual thing is to have the hinges mounted just above the board surface - see the blocks in the picture - this allows the track by the hinges to rise without clashing with the fixed track. The track is cut on the break-line where the door joins the fixed top. A picture of the top of the door when it's open would explain it... Or try http://www.brian-lambert.co.uk/Hints%20&%20Tips.htm#Lifting Bridge Section And, is it Hazelwood or Hazlewood? I think we should be told..
  2. Mmm, I'll think keep my distance if I spot you - there's always the possibility of a back-fire..
  3. He's not that far from the old De Lorean factory - maybe has has special facilities...
  4. And with paper chimney pots, too - the sign of the dedicated modeller..
  5. There a bit of discussion here - http://www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=30414
  6. gsm = grams per square metre - an indication of the thickness/stiffness of the card. Available from art shops and the like.
  7. He's only about twenty miles from me. I don't actually know him, but the 'local' shop owner seems to rate him highly..
  8. Maybe give Roger a call - http://www.keen-systems.com/page10.html - he's a good chap, by all accounts.
  9. He lives in the North - I always find that we have to turn UTV down a notch..
  10. Would any of the Keen-Systems stuff be suitable? http://www.keen-systems.com/page2.html
  11. It's poor supervision, really. That's the bonus gone.. Don't worry, only a pedantic bugger would notice it.
  12. Would the 'Bus Lane' script not be the other way round, i.e., to be viewed from a bus driving towards it on the left, if you see what I mean?

I thought that I remembered him saying that something had come up, but I couldn't find it anywhere.. He'll be along with a note from his Mum soon, I'm sure.
  14. Or just a bag of air and tell 'em it was dehydrated...
  15. How long before there's one in Portlaoise?
  16. If that's your bag, then try 'Hitman' - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068704/ - a 1972 remake of 'Get Carter' in that style, with much of the dialogue verbatim..
  17. Let her see the pre-production pictures of the 071 - that's quality time..
  18. Tell her it's like dolls' houses, but a bit smaller and some of it moves. It'll make sense to her then, I'm sure *.. * Actually, I'm not, but try it, anyway.

  21. Anto needs to get at them cows!! A bit too clean...
  22. Yes, indeed, sorry for the de-rail, but those Roco doors are just mental. I doubt that their 'hinged-door' actuators would be directly suitable for plug-doors, though - but you never know... Separate doors is a great idea, though - especially for modern coaches where the doors are of contrasting colours.
  23. Found a few more, on there and elsewhere, but all from the front, as they almost all are. If you happen to see it again. No panic, though... Yet.
  24. Any pictures of the rear of that Laois Thames?.
  25. Opening doors? Really? DCC controlled? [video=youtube;-Qm2NTuQimI] 1:30 on...
