  1. Other than operating at 25% capacity with fewer carriages and reduced timetable is there anything new actually happening on the Network?
  2. Hi guys, what's the latest on the A Class locomotives? Nothing has been posted on this thread in over 21 hours.
  3. I like the anonymity of logging on here without people knowing who I am or where I live [in a dump]. I use this forum to see what the latest news is on model releases and other items of interest and I'm sure that the people who log on here as guess's [or guests] use it for similar purposes. Railway modelling for me is a personal thing and enjoy running a mix of locomotives and wagons from different eras. From what I read on this forum a lot modelers have to operate consists of trains as they would have run in real life when, in my view, it's about escapism. I'm only too delighted to see that lots of people are using this forum as a resource for furthering their interest in this magnificent hobby.
  4. Not saying that I'm an impatient guy but I'd take one of them as they are now and use the chasis from my Lima A/C class.
  5. Thanks irishswissernie, that's like telling an alcoholic where you've hidden the keys to the drinks cabinet. I'm going to be very busy looking at all of those photographs.

    Enviro 400

It's the Covid-19 special - no passengers on it.
  7. Have my 4lb [four pound] lump hammer on the ready so I can smash my Lima A (or is that C?) class once the IRMs have arrived. All of the shite that was produced pre MM 201s will be consigned to the history books and thrash cans.
  8. Thanks guys, fantastic stuff. This is my favourite thread in the whole of this site - hate having to wait more than five minutes for new [vintage] photographs to be uploaded.
  9. Is there an photograph in existence for Waterford Manor Street Station? I don't recall ever seeing one. Considering how short the line was, and not connected to any other railway, it seems to have had an interesting history.
  10. This time next year loads of people will be lamenting the fact that they didn't order the locomotive they had their' eyes on when they were first released. Now's your chance.
  11. Yeah! Lets get back to the topic at hand. Looking at the chart it seems the early diesels are at the bottom, this may have something to do with there being no prototypical wagons to run with them. All said, anything around 50% on pre-order is very good. It reminds me of the Celtic Tiger when people were buying property off the drawings (before the houses/apartments were completed) [getting side tracked again!].
  12. It's a bit like 'Top of the Pops' - This weeks number one is A23R
  13. Just one month to go before the As arrive. This is like waiting for Christmas (or the pubs to fully re-open [whichever comes first]).
  14. Great picture of the E401 (414), it's a locomotive of which I don't see many photographs. What is the history of this locomotive? A thread regarding this locomotive may exist on this forum already!
  15. @Bumble_Bee. I intended sticking to the IR liveried era, however, some of the liveries look better on some locomotives and coaches than they do on others. When the 121s were released I had every intention of just getting one or two of each of the IR/IE liveried versions but bought the greys and the black & tans instead. So, like yourself, I like to mix my stock from different eras - not hung up on what exactly ran with what in what year and at what time.
  16. Don't recall seeing a picture of the B101 in the silver livery. Probably one of the most detailed photographs I've seen of this locomotive. Wonder if the guys at IRM have this in their' sights. Thanks again Ernie so uploading those photographs.
  17. The one thing I like about modelling push-pull trains is that I can change the direction without having to run around the engine. The Mark III DVTs would be a great addition to any layout.
  18. If Murphy Models are going to be releasing Mark III coaches there will be a demand for the 201(new) locomotives in the original liveried IE versions.
  19. It's brilliant news altogether, however, I did sense a bit of a "Whinge" from someone in this thread. Today is National Positive Mental Attitude day.
  20. That's brilliant news. Glad to see that there will be an up-to-date version of the most important model of an Irish prototypical locomotive. I was wondering if this would ever happen.
  21. Think this thread should be moved to the "Letting Off Steam" forum.
  22. Hi Noel. The most important model was the Murphy Models [Lima] 201(new). In terms of prototypical locomotives the A Class is the most important model. There were so many A class locomotives about that they turned up everywhere - even in places that didn't have railway tracks.
