GNRi1959
I have managed to foul the spring of a Peco point. The point will switch one way but will not return to the opposite side. Is there any way of repairing this?

Broithe
Is this the biasing spring? Or one of the "switch blades"?

If it's distorted, can you re-bend it to shape? If it has dislodged, can you replace it properly? There are lots of videos on YouTube, depending upon what the problem actually is. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cDTLbJzBnZM/VLASkU2wZDI/AAAAAAAAHvc/ARdk83mBTns/s1600/Peco%2BSL-8352-1mc.jpg Edited December 10, 2021 by Broithe
GNRi1959
I just ordered a new one, to be honest, the spring was bent so I chucked it. Broithe
Depending on how you are operating the point, you may not actually need the spring to be there at all.
spudfan
You do not need the spring. The point rails will catch on the little lugs attached to the outer rails. You can bend them up if the point will not catch and stay put. I changed over to Peco Electrofrog when I rebuilt the layout over twenty years ago and those points are still in use and none have needed to be replaced.
Mayner
At one stage Peco supplied the "Over center spring" as a (possibly free?) spare part. They would send an envelope full of springs if you contacted the Peco Technical Advice Bureau https://peco-uk.com/pages/help-advice It might be worth sending an e-mail. Robert Shrives
Do not junk the point - cut in half before the crossing and you get a double bladed trap point for end of loop - fixed to suit route out if needs be - fitting a little spring from a coupling or perhaps a biro might give enough "locking."
