If it has dislodged, can you replace it properly?

I just ordered a new one, to be honest, the spring was bent so I chucked it. Christ but modelling doesn’t half eat up your pocket money!

You do not need the spring. The point rails will catch on the little lugs attached to the outer rails. You can bend them up if the point will not catch and stay put. I changed over to Peco Electrofrog when I rebuilt the layout over twenty years ago and those points are still in use and none have needed to be replaced.

Do not junk the point - cut in half before the crossing and you get a double bladed trap point for end of loop - fixed to suit route out if needs be - fitting a little spring from a coupling or perhaps a biro might give enough "locking."
