connollystn Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Great stuff, something to look forward to. It'll have been over two years since I last attended a model railway exhibition. Good on the Wexford Model Railway Club for organising an exhibition so soon after the last. 3 Quote

Wexford MRC are the only club in Ireland hosting two exhibitions every year. 2 Quote
connollystn Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 Just playing Devil's advocate here but, I've a sneaking feeling that IRM will make a few announcements at this show. Quote

I’m afraid we won’t be be able to make the Wexford show as we don’t have staff to cover it being a national holiday, but who knows what may come up at Bangor… Cheers! Fran 2 Quote
connollystn Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Anyway, looking forward to my first ever trip to Wexford Town - food and trains, what more could a man want? Quote
leslie10646 Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 Change of plan with Provincial Wagons. Lorna McDonald will be there with my kits - we've still got some stock in the Republic! Go along and support her please! Leslie 2 1 Quote
RobertRoche Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 (edited) Advance notice for anyone travelling by train to the Wexford Show - it appears that there will be engineering works on the Dublin - Wexford line that weekend. The below tweet from Irish Rail says that it will be a bus transfer from Connolly to Greystones. I imagine this will be for both Sunday and Monday. Edited March 12, 2022 by RobertRoche 1 1 Quote
connollystn Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 Robert, thanks for alerting us to that. Looking forward to the show so I'll be making my way to Wexford regardless. Have a friend who doesn't understand my interest in model railways but keeps offering to give me a lift to any of the exhibitions I want to go. Think he's a bit of a closet case. 1 Quote
connollystn Posted April 5, 2022 Posted April 5, 2022 Any up-date regarding the Wexford Model Railway Club Annual Exhibition which will be happening this forthcoming Easter weekend? I'm certainly looking forward to it. Quote
RobertRoche Posted April 5, 2022 Posted April 5, 2022 (edited) At the moment we have 19 model railway layouts confirmed, 8 model railway traders and 7 other stands including our Station Café which will be located in the adjacent hall serving teas/coffees, savouries, snacks and home-made cakes with only donations requested. connollystn Posted April 5, 2022 Posted April 5, 2022 Hi Robert, thanks for that update. I'm looking forward to traveling to Wexford but, it's a pity that there'll be engineering works on the railway line so it'll be the bus for me. With not having been to a model railway exhibition in almost 2 and a half years I'll be just glad to see model trains operating on layouts. 2 Quote
leslie10646 Posted April 9, 2022 Posted April 9, 2022 As Lorna won't have a massive stock at Wexford, if you want a particular kit from the Provincial Wagons' stable (pun intended, as it's Grand National Day), please send me a PM, or e-mail me at lesliemcallister@aol.com Have a good weekend and I hope you've backed the winner today! 2 Quote
connollystn Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 Anyway, while we're waiting (patiently) for new announcements from I.R.M. the next big thing in the Irish railway modelling world is the Wexford Exhibition this forthcoming Easter & Monday. I'll be heading down on Sunday so if anyone or a few of you fancy meeting for a chat we could arrange to occupy one of the tables in the Station Cáfe. 2 Quote
RobertRoche Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 A big thank you to all our visitors, exhibitors, traders, Station Café crew and members who helped to make a great Wexford show this Easter weekend. People travelled from all corners of the country and it was great to see both old and new faces! Here are some pictures from the show. 15 1 Quote
