Patrick Davey Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 Today was the second day of the UMRC’s annual exhibition in Methodist College, Belfast, and I was there to help Alan aka @Tullygrainey operate his exceptional ‘The Stone Yard’ layout although I’m not sure how successful I was in that job. Anyway, why is it exceptional? I shall let the following photos answer that!! 9 8

Tullygrainey Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 (edited) Many thanks for taking and sharing these images Patrick. You've done the Stone Yard proud! PS You did ok as a trainee narrow gauge driver Edited August 25, 2024 by Tullygrainey 1 2
Galteemore Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 A masterclass in the subtleties of tone and texture 1 3 1
Patrick Davey Posted August 25, 2024 Author Posted August 25, 2024 Also - an interesting fact: Due to the layout being called 'The Stone Yard', Alan was obliged to introduce 'block' working. 1 1

Broithe Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 3 hours ago, Patrick Davey said: The realism in all these pictures is truly remarkable, but I do feel that the figures in the background here are a little over-scale and the clothing is a touch 'modern' perhaps? Although, to be fair, they do look almost real. 5
derek Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 (edited) Absolutely fantastic! I love looking at Alan's tread on The Stone Yard ( The Narrow Gauge One) as well as Loughan Key. I think half of his view count could be down to me. The level of detail is exceptional. A true masterclass. . And great pics Patrick by the way Edited August 26, 2024 by derek 1 1 1
