Mac-70 Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Sounds good, me and my better half are thinking about heading down round Cork in middle of March for a few day's, might put it of for a few day's then head down. Talbot Hotel looks nice as well couple of good attractions around it too.
Westcorkrailway Posted January 21 Author Posted January 21 (edited) If anyone is interested, I could do a small tour of west cork around that time. After all, it’s 65 years since its closure Edited January 21 by Westcorkrailway
Thomas Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Would you have a list of the railway displays and trade stands?
Westcorkrailway Posted March 2 Author Posted March 2 I don’t have a full list, but there will be 55 stands total
Dawn Quest Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Really looking forward to this weekend! I’m flying over to Cork from the UK to visit . Thank you for inviting me—it’s going to be a great show on Sunday. On Saturday, I’ll be filming an amazing home layout and garden railway, as well as enjoying some foodie experiences in Cork City. If you’re coming along on Sunday, come and say hello! 6
Dawn Quest Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Looks like there will be 50 traders, 10 model railway layouts and of the traders, some interesting 3D building suppliers. Entrance is only 2 Euros and just spoke to the event manager and looks like he is bringing this beauty 4
Westcorkrailway Posted March 18 Author Posted March 18 I remember when he bought that! I think the idea was for it to sit in the garden. Mad thing altogether!

Mol_PMB Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Superb presentation of the layout - I love the red and cream finish. Sorry I won't be there - I'll be in Cork next weekend instead. 2

Georgeconna Posted March 19 Posted March 19 (edited) Fitted in the motor, just need to loose about 6 inches of girth as the seat is pushed up to the max. Reassembled it and 2 lights not working as the wires came away now sorted. Here it is now in expo mode Edited March 19 by Georgeconna 4 3

leslie10646 Posted March 19 Posted March 19 (edited) Now, George, you're boasting about how old you are ...... Zero one - I can JUST about remember that system. Of course to some of us a Zero One is a twelve wheeler German express loco. The modern electric equivalent is a Class 101 - you can have great fun with numbers! Edited March 19 by leslie10646

Introduced 1979 by Hornby, but disappeared from the catalogue by 1983.... Not a cheap system back then either, and you were limited to 16 locomotives - that was the maximum it was designed for given the state of technology back then. Nowadays, many people have five or six times that number in their collections.

Used to swap them out then to other locos when I fancied something different! Still have the two locos and they still run. Edited March 21 by Georgeconna 4
