Riversuir226
On the way back from Portlaoise(I wonder why i was up there:)), I spent a bit of time trying to find the long closed Portlaoise line from Ballyragget south to Kilkenny. To be honest even trying to find the alignment was hard in places but the odd telegraph pole gave the alignment away. http://www.flickr.com/photos/73238117@N02/sets/72157634466808945/

I was cutting grass down on the former line yesterday. My grandad has a section of it at the end of his garden.
enniscorthyman
There was feature on that line on a IRRS journal a while back, I think it might have mostly been about the branch to Mountmellick or Castlecomer, not sure but will check it out when I get a chance

Glenderg
It's a bit of a nuisance all right. It's specifically orientated toward tablet and phone browsing, and particularly crap if you are desktop bound. If you do get it working, it's worthwhile, in particular Finnyus's latest batch. What internet browser/machine/flux capacitor are you using JHB?
Garfield
Still getting used to it here, too. Slightly OT, but some time ago I set up a Flickr group called 'Irish Railway Heritage'. I rarely post anything to it myself, but there are countless gems from other photographers who contribute: http://www.flickr.com/groups/irishrailwayheritage/

jhb171achill
Glenderg, such is my technoilliteracy, I don't even know what those things are! I am using a steam-ear clockwork laptop. It's one of these new things, only needs two people to lift it.... To me, an iPad is probably some sort of cushion if you have dodgy knees..... :-)
