New DRS Class 68

Coming to a railway across the pond in dark blue and black before long, the new class 68.

 

Dapol are doing the loco in OO and N gauge.

 

Might need to fit a smoke unit.... Now all we need to see are the new Colas class 70s, also due before Christmas.

Nice loco Fran, I think there is a nod in the direction of the HST class 43 and a bit of a class 67 in the design. I take it that the Colas class 70's will be the same as the Freightliner ones. The class 66's and 59's almost feel retro now.

Im sure sure it's a very good loco, but it just looks too European for my liking. The class 70s I like though, the narrow hood unit style looks really well

No idea, other than the slightly altered logo and sweeping lines the livery is basically the same. She's a handsome brute, I did say to myself that these were too modern for my era (draw the line once DB Red appeared) but I'll probably cave in and get one, provided Dapol don't make a balls of it!

That's some loco, and the new DRS livery is sweet. Won't see one of these being dropped back into a cargo hold.

Shades of an 071 when it comes to sound...
