When jhb171 senior started work on the GSR, serious problems were encountered along the coast hetween Dublin and Wicklow, leading to major repair work having to be dive in a number of locations. He used this experience to do exactly the same type of work along the Carrickfergus - Larne lobe of the NCC.

Water was a good bit higher when it happened than it might appear by the time those pictures were taken - a very near miss, certainly.

I beg your pardon!!!! ;) Last time I was on a bike was many, many years ago. Walk everywhere instead

 

Back to topic - why was he there in the first place? Water may have helped it slow down a bit, still very nasty and very lucky
