By the looks of things they must have focused on these when rolling out this new image, because all of the other coaching stock and loco's seem to have been done very ad-hoc, and over a prolonged period of time. 0 Riversuir226 Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 I ve seen pics of a mk3 egv in the older livery with a rake of the newer livery, i ve seen pics of the galway mk2's mixed with regular livery mk 2's . It was far more common with mixtures of liveries in the cravens/park royals, i ve one pic with a gsv in black/orange, park royal with white stripes and 3 cravens in a mix of all liveries. Quote
0 Railer Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 I do recall mixed Mk2D liveries with IR orange roofs mixed in with the newer IE black roof livery. I was too young to be around to see any Mk2s or Mk3s in supertrain though. Quote
0 rebelred Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 New Liveries are done on a coach by coach basis, it would be very unusual to take an entire train out of service for a re-spray unless it was for a complete overhaul (Galway Mk 2 or Enterprise) or if it were a railcar, thats why it wasn't unusual to see mixed rakes. Forgive my ignorance but how did the galway livery come about and what was it for? Was it supposed to match the first 201s which had that colour scheme? Never understood why the original 201s weird livery didn't match the livery of the mk2 or mk3 coaches. Quote

I remember seeing, on more than one occasion, a Mk 2 in "Galway" livery in a train of identical coaches but in "normal" livery. Quote

I remember seeing, on more than one occasion, a Mk 2 in "Galway" livery in a train of identical coaches but in "normal" livery. That was usually because a coach was taken off for a repair or service & when returned to service was stuck on another set to make up the numbers on another set. The 'Galway' set went around for a long while with a 'tipex' Gen Van as the 'Galway' Van was knackered!! Quote
