Broithe
Have people noticed Dapol's new signals? http://www.dapol.co.uk/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=114&Itemid=59&vmcchk=1&Itemid=59 - fully assembled, motorised and lit - drill a hole, drop it in, do up the nut and wire it up - off you go. £25 might look a lot, but it wouldn't be too cheap to do all that yourself.. BosKonay
Any docs or details on the wiring? Could they be wired to the switches on a point motor?

Retro Herbie
Wiring is so easy, four wires from the signal, red and black are to a 16v power supply for the lights and two yellow leads for the mechanism and light switching. It requires a minimal pulse to throw the switch so can be wired to either a stud and pin/control panel or to the switches on the bottom of a motor. wiggy
Do you mean like this. The orange does not show up very well on the video and the white stripe is thicker and the red at the end is more red than the original maroon. Wiring is so simple. Red & Black for 16v feed. 2 Yellow wires you connect together via a push to make switch to change the signal. Each time you press the switch the signal changes. DO NOT join the 2 Yellows together through an on/off switch. Wiggy.

Broithe
Excellent. Good to see the actual operation. I wondered if they might move in a rather less realistic and 'snappy' manner. How loud are they in reality? Does the noise intrude at all, or is it only as loud as that in the video because of the proximity of the camera..? To be honest I think that they are to loud but what are we comparing it with.

minister_for_hardship
It looks similar to an old style signal seen on GS&WR and CBSCR with a heavyish-looking spectacle, just paint the Sputnik thingy on top white.
