BosKonay Posted October 24, 2017 Author Posted October 24, 2017 Hi Walter while different, the new platform offers a lot more functionality and ease of use. Am sure you’ll get used to it Quote
RedRich Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 For those members who are finding the change a bit difficult or not as friendly to use please give it time you will become used to it and actually enjoy the time you spend on here. What Stephen has done here is take the group to a newer and higher level and has made a platform from which we as members and hobbyists can move forward together. Come on here and keep posting, the more you do the more I am sure it will grow on you. It is still the same group with the same members only upgraded to make it better. Enjoy it for what it is and it is a great group. Rich, 1 1 Quote
Broithe Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 As much as I dislike change, I will say that everything that we had is still there, albeit sometimes not where we remember it, but the many improvements are very worthwhile, particularly the photo uploading - no more Imgur links on here from me. I wonder if my old Imgur links will work again at some point in the future? 1 Quote
BosKonay Posted October 25, 2017 Author Posted October 25, 2017 Hi Broithe in theory all external images should work the same as before. Are some broken? Quote

They were still missing yesterday. And they load much faster than they were doing in the latter part of the Old Days. Quote
Broithe Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 Mmm, well, the Haywood ones are there now, but the ones in here are still missing - there could well be others elsewhere, too. Quote
BosKonay Posted October 25, 2017 Author Posted October 25, 2017 I moved those manually, it does look like the links are there, but they are not showing up, I presume there isn't some setting or toggle at imgur? Quote
Broithe Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 I saw that they had been moved manually - they should all have the same settings - oddly, the Stafford exhibition ones are partly there - 2017 is all missing, but 2016 is all there - odd. Maybe it's just a time issue? What I see when I look is just the 'tail' of the link the (number).jpg, but not the start. Quote
Broithe Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 '17 missing pics, but there in '16..? Odd, but not the end of the world. Quote
BosKonay Posted October 25, 2017 Author Posted October 25, 2017 Is there any way to check that imgur isn't blocking this site? Quote
Broithe Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 I'll ask them, but everything was done with the same 'public' settings. Quote
BosKonay Posted October 25, 2017 Author Posted October 25, 2017 The difference seems to be HTTP versus HTTPS The ones appearing are http looks like Quote
BosKonay Posted October 25, 2017 Author Posted October 25, 2017 Perhaps try post an image here? Quote
Broithe Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 Not sure when that changed, there was a rearrangement about a year ago. They still appear everywhere else that I use them. Quote
Broithe Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 (edited) Taken at the same time as the Haywood pictures. Mmm - dead! Edited October 25, 2017 by Broithe Quote

BosKonay Posted October 25, 2017 Author Posted October 25, 2017 aha Seems to work fine as an embedded link, but when the forum attempts to treat it as an image file and download a local copy, the problems start Quote

Stafford 2017 still not there - but, oddly, the first picture link is clickable and loads the picture in another window (on Imgur) - all the others are still dead. Broithe Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 Mmm, I retract some of my approval for the new photo uploading arrangements. It works perfectly for the "ladies" camera that I keep in the car and use for closer access at exhibitions, but not for the "proper" camera that I used to take some pictures of the West Coast Main Line that runs a couple of hundred yards away from the venue. I presume that size is the issue, though the error message just calls it a 'problem'. I could resize them, I suppose - what is the actual limit, though? I could use the existing Imgur link, as I have elsewhere, but that's https and doesn't work, either. It took me a while to realise that I had used a different camera outside. For reference, about 1M works and about 4M doesn't (for me). Quote
BosKonay Posted October 25, 2017 Author Posted October 25, 2017 Thanks Broithe, will do some digging into the settings Quote
scahalane Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 The images from my workbench and 'Kent Station' layout are still missing. They were originally linked from photobucket. Quote

scahalane Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 Just been reading about it there after a quick Google check...hadn't realized...little feckers!! that's them off my Christmas list. Quote
BosKonay Posted October 25, 2017 Author Posted October 25, 2017 If you still have access to the images, I can probably help get them back online? Quote

scahalane Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 I should have them somewhere, although probably in different places. The alternative is for me to download them 1 by 1 from photobucket. Not sure where each image goes though. Quote

WRENNEIRE Posted November 9, 2017 Posted November 9, 2017 Stephen I have had some lads asking about the missing pics on the Lima/Murphy Models thread Is there any way I can edit the old posts to insert new pics? Cheers Quote
