RedRich Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 A genius of the game albeit a tortured one. That goal against England in 86 the second goal was one of the greatest. Won the world cup in 86 on his own as it wasn't a great Argentina team. 4 Quote

flange lubricator Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 Don’t think he had any interest in trains , he was allegedly a bit of a BR Class 50 when it came to the old cocaine. Quote

He played in an era when harsh tackles were the norm, and man marking was an art, yet he always came out on top. As you say, it was a decent Argentinan side, but nothing special in 86. He was the driving force, and they were destined to win it with him there. The second goal against England has gone down in history as one of the best ever, but the two against Belgium in the semi final are often overlooked. Both, were pure class also. RedRich Posted November 29, 2020 Author Posted November 29, 2020 The free kick against Juve in serie A inside the box was class. It was indirect and the other player rolled it a few inches to him and he got it up over the wall and into the top corner. People claim Messi is a better player as amazing as he is Maradona edges it for me. Take Maradona out of the 86 winning team and replace him with Messi and Argentina don't win. Replace Messi with a prime Maradona in the World Cup final in 2014 and Argentia win. Rich, 1 Quote
