How close are the seacows to the NIR ballast hoppers? They look incredible!

Removing the bodies to make container trucks. The Ford Cargo is the easiest, perfect size, has a bed, just take the base off a C-Rail container and you're done. The Scanias and the Oxford TK need beds made for them. The two white EFE TK's were riveted together so out with the drill. Everything else was just held together with screws. I pick these trucks up from Hatton's whenever they have cheap used ones for £7 or so each.

LokPilots are only €12,50? I thought they were around €30? Meh, the lighting doesn't bother me at the moment. Not enough to add €10 to €30 to the price of a loco. Probably WILL bother me in the future, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

DCC is kind of over-budget for me at this point in time. When it comes down to an extra wagon vs. a LP, or an extra pack vs. A LS, my money goes on the stock. I hope to go limited-DCC one day soon, but the majority will stay DC. In this weather, DCC sun visors would be more useful than DCC lighting.

Couldn't resist trying the Genesis coaches in the dark. I'd say they'd be awesome on DCC with a constant power supply.

Murphy Models 078 shunting some SE&CR Hatton's Genesis coaches back and forth. First time running any trains in quite a while.

Absolutely love the 121 double-header! Great to see the 2600 running, even if it was only for a second. What's that hiding behind the last platform? Outstanding video as always. A day late, you ruined my Friday with no video, but this was good enough to make up for it.

Received a little parcel from @WRENNEIRE the other day... Have another one yet to open, but that's for another day...

Exactly what I was thinking! Toot toot!

Found this older layout thread today. Some lovely stuff, particularly the Scalescenes ground prints!

Not my fault, that loco is too quiet! -
Just wondering if it would be an idea to add a "Container Models and Prototypes" subsection to the "Railway Related Modelling" section of the forum and move the various container-based threads in there? At the moment, each container thread gets very convoluted, possibly because the poor things are homeless here on the forum.

Maybe that's what they mean by a "smoke generator" ... -
Miserable bar stewards. Any links to the juicy items? EDIT, found four: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204394590369 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/195875006320 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204394590372 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/134650798781 All repaints / conversions. Romance scams? Pick out the lonelist, most pathetic poster, then PM them. "Hi, I'm double-d Svetlana, blah blah blah" ... Or use the PM facility for nefarious purposes, unrelated to the forum, like planning an assasination? Like the London rioters ten or fifteen years ago used BBM to avoid detection. Or as @Broithe says, the plan is to post, then edit in a malicious link, but they see it's pointless with us off-topic-ers and don't bother. Or just to see members forum signatures and harvest personal info? I dunno, just looking for logic.

Likewise with this forum, there may be ten or twenty members online, the rest guests. That's not to suggest any malice, the forum is quite often featured in my search results online when not logged in, and I imagine the same for many others. Interesting trick on the editing of the posts. Probably won't get away with it here because no matter what gets posted, no more how innocuous, it'll get spammed with off topic stuff on tin vans and chiropractors and "when I was young" posts... I must wrack my brain for some more profiles like these. Usually no activity and too many consonants / double consonants in the name, and usually only one of them logged in at any one time.

Just wondering about suspicious looking profiles on the forum. One or two are obviously members with duplicates, but some look like maybe bots or something. This is just one example, but the bot type ones all look the same. What's their agenda? https://irishrailwaymodeller.com/profile/2501-svetlxvv/

Mrs. Snail might be happy to accept the house burning down if it means getting rid of those damn trains! Not disagreeing on price, it's a massive massive jump! Think that the sound fitted Accurascale 92's were around €335, and having a non-sound model, or two, or whatever, I can vouch for them being incredible: -
