  2. Thought the same when I saw the title, but can't complain as these also look awesome.
  3. The weathering on A30 and A42 is brilliant. Really picks out the detail.
  4. Exactly the same here. Currency conversion, postage, import taxes and a handling fee all take their toll, but it's worth it to support somebody manufacturing Irish stock. Posted this video of John's wagons before but it's worth posting again:
  5. Oh yeah, and a few 1:64 BMC Jap legends!
  6. A few 1:72's into the mix...
  7. A friend sent me this photo of his Panorama. Just thought that it was nice so I'd share it here.
  8. I'd like to see that when it's done!
  9. Care package arrived today... Big thanks to @WRENNEIRE for four stunning coaches!!! Thanks also to whichever one of the IRM lads got a few Dicky Tara's for DJD Senior at the Rahen(e)y show. Whoever it was said that they were all gone, but told him to come back a bit later and they'd found a few for him!
  10. By the strictest legal definition, it was a cat, but writing that might have scared the OP off. She's a very special cat, to be found anywhere that she shouldn't be... I'd forgotten that the lads sent me that schematic for the duff 054. Here it is. As a disclaimer, I'd suggest contacting IRM in private before opening up a loco. They have amazing customer service, absolutely can't be faulted. A guide to self repairing a slipping driveshaft.pdf
  11. Only problem I can see with that is IRM's Midas touch. Suddenly, twenty of each wouldn't be enough.
  12. Technically it was me who removed them, and @murphaph who glued all of the bits back together...
  13. Speaking of fun... Had to remove the body off a bin lorry yesterday as the fuel tank was loose inside the packaging and had to be glued back in place, so I came up with this!
  14. I see four JMD wagons in stock and three available to pre-order: https://jmdesignmodelrailways.com/collections/irish-wagon-series
  15. Few eBay bits and bobs today... IRM BritBus Cityswift for €75: https://www.ebay.es/itm/295636868061 IRM BritBus IE Intercity for €70: https://www.ebay.es/itm/295636849579 EFE Translink for €35: https://www.ebay.es/itm/266222204039 Absolute bargain 201 for @Noel, five times the price it should be: https://www.ebay.es/itm/125887838291 Couple of Ulster PD2's around €30 each: https://www.ebay.es/itm/266222203727 https://www.ebay.es/itm/325580373196 https://www.ebay.es/itm/334261544008 Oxford Diecast Tinnelly curtainsider for €35: https://www.ebay.es/itm/325507252714 Corgi Metrobus in two-tone Dublin green : https://www.ebay.es/itm/256042856965 (As far as I know, there was only one of those and it only ran in Dublin for six months at the end of 1989)
  16. Now you're talking!!!
  17. Well, your bus has been redirected to somewhere in the west of Ireland, so you're in for a wait!
  18. I have some Studio Scale Models transfers on the way from @Weshty. A random selection. The yellow is too pale for an ESB van and the green is too dark for an An Post van but I can't be bothred re-spraying so that's probably what they'll end up as. Also de-branded a London Transport bus. Looks very Irish to me afterwards. I'm sure that @jhb171achill will be on this quicker than a tin van to tell me that it's the wrong green and the wrong body syle and to remove the window lining and to make sure that the snails upper arm points forward, but meh, it'll do!
  19. Fun de-branding yesterday, some Mk1 Transits first. The little blue roof lights were well glued on, so I drilled them out from the inside, then stuck a rail fixing pin down throgh the top to lever them off. Will deal with the mark left behind another day.
  20. For the British outline O Gaugers, Rails of Sheffield have some Class 31's and Class 60's at very low prices. Are there known issues with these locos or something? Would love to buy a Class 31 and stick a Shapeways 141 body onto it.
  21. I'd say that it's a bit reductionist to imply that it's solely a confidence / experience issue. There are likely to be several other factors in play, varying from individual to individual. YouTube is great, as are communities like this. Even though I've almost never lifted a rattle can, I know quite a bit about what to do and not do, thanks to forum members and YouTube.
  22. Actually looks like that might be one just before the BLS container?
  23. I was unable to post this in the correct section, so maybe a mod would be kind enough to move it here for me: https://irishrailwaymodeller.com/forum/36-services/ As of 2023, who is offering respray services? I'm only aware of Chris Dyer / Tony Mirolo, and the forum's own Chris @Dempsey. I've been chatting with a few forum members behind the scenes, and there's definitely a demand for resprays, but it's also possible that customers would have unrealistic expectations on price vs. quality. Personally, if it were to cost me €300 to have one of my locos resprayed to a professional level, I'd pay it - just look what second-hand NIR 111's go for. Regarding weathering, I think that Chris @Dempsey may be the only one offering this service? I'm lucky to enough to have a few special commissions in my collection, notably from @murphaph and @Noel, but these were one-offs. Apologies if I have forgotten anybody, but it's unintentional and that's why I'm posting this publicly.
  24. No ContainerShips???
