How's the engineering work going?
-
Agreed, @JasonB, @Rob just likes building the anticipation with the bi-anual updates.
-
Love the video, Cookie Monster! Cabinets still standing?
-
@Rob's Heuston North is a great example of keeping space relatively clear. Maybe something like the lads say, a few low-lying piles of ballast or scrap, but with a lot of open space and nothing tall, aside from maybe a floodlight or two? True Broe-mance!

Ah crap. Was the black band incorrect on the Galway EGV's that Paddy ran a few years ago, too?

Hey! Phrasing! This is a family-friendly forum where a large amount of posters have a mental age under sixteen, please show some consideration!

The only one of the four that is still available as of right now is: https://www.hattons.co.uk/1056101/hattons_originals_h4_6bt_1701b_6_wheel_brake_3rd_90_in_cie_dark_green/stockdetail

DHL delivered a few Hatton's parcels to me at lunchtime. Quite sad to think that there won't be any more, aside from the few held by Customs, and the Genesis coaches. Some track that they were selling off cheap. I've already started chopping the sections down to size. Looks quite good under the stock. Also have some transition sections to join the code 124 and 143. Did anybody else get themselves any bargains in the closing down sale?

What Happens After The Warranty Expires?
DJ Dangerous replied to DJ Dangerous's topic in General Chat
Wow, that is unexpected - and amazing! I honestly can't see how you guys, or any manufacturer / retailer, can do anything without people trying to take advantage of you? As soon as you show the first hint of goodwill or benevolence, the snakes and scavengers will try to exploit it. I suppose you could offer a paid repair service, where customers agree a fee before posting something to you. Then, the techs could inspect and see whether a model has been used or not and decide to either discount or not charge at all for the repairs, based on their observations. That would clear out the chancers straight away, as they'd never take the risk of having to pay! Wait a minute... Those light-up gauge clusters in the cabs... Do those milometers actually work? That'd be handy! -
Home after another long day... I had to split my order into several smaller ones due to weight restrictions. I've just finished paying for all of the orders. I didn't receive payment requests for all of them, only some of them, so is it OK that I paid them all anyway?

As per the title... I've just watched a video on YouTube, which got me wondering about warranty expiry for IRM and Accurascale products. From speaking with other forum members, I know that I'm not alone in buying locos and stock as they are released, even though I have nowhere to run them, nor the time to do so. So, let's say that one has a few A Class locos brand new in box, but the warranty has expired before they actually get to open them up and run them. If there are any issues, what is the best way forward? I don't mean legally, more morally. Is it just tough luck, I should have made the time and space to run everything in properly before the warranty expired? That would seem a little harsh, considering that it was the "pioneers" pre-ordering the early locos that helped build the current IRM / AS empire, and also out of character for the IRM lads. For transparency, I have not contacted IRM in private about this, it's more just for general discussion, to see what people feel. Also, the one or two A's and 92's that I did get a chance to run, and had issues with, IRM / AS were super on communication, sending me welding diagrams or whatever and all kinds of stuff. Also also, to add, I needed to buy some wipers for an A Class, which was attacked by a Catzilla and fell from quite a height. IRM didn't just sell me the wipers, they posted them to me for free! They were under no obligation to do anything as the loco was aesthetically perfect before the attack. Anybody have any thoughts or fears?

Aside from asking @WRENNEIRE, you could get yourself a Replica Railways B4 bogie, a Bachmann B4 bogie, or ask Murphy Models or IRM if they'll be selling their new B4 bogies as spares. Almost sure the @BosKonay said that the IRM / Accurascale B4 bogies won't be available, YET, as they have integrated pick-ups and wiring for the coach lighting, but am open to correction.

Eagle Eye Cherry here, well spotted! Would be handy to know if somebody else is also offering the etched wipers.

Nothing beats a nice brown box. Speaking of, how useful are these for Irish modellers? https://railsofsheffield.com/products/dapol-4f-028-152-40-ft-high-cube-container-zim-769411-4-727809-8-twin-pack

The images are just placeholders. Same as Hatton’s, Rails etc. There are two threads on the same thing. Maybe a mod could merge them?

Getting back on "track" here, absolutely smashing price for this DAF 2800, just under €30! Only four units available. https://www.ebay.es/itm/395050455562 Would like to see some of our resident weathering experts turn their hand at heavily aging one of these!

Your eyes are bigger than your... cavity.

Yup, the same four in each livery.

Container gantry 1960s / early 70s
DJ Dangerous replied to jhb171achill's question in Questions & Answers
Was just gonna say that @Westcorkrailway posted here about Owen O'Neill's kit! @dave182 used the same kit here, I think. @Mayner posted photos here. Second picture shows the 1960's 15T gantry behind the shed. -
As far as I know, both liveries were released with 4101 and 4108 bundled, and 4102 and 4110 bundled. So MM4101 and MM4108 both had 4101 and 4108 bundled. MM4102 and MM4110 both had 4102 and 4110 bundled.
