  1. Photo from last night and another this morning with all three islands visible; El Hierro to the left (just the tip), La Gomera front and centre, and the twin summits of La Palma to the right. Not too common to see all three, specially this time of year, and it's super rare to see them any time other than sunset.
  2. Loving this layout. I can see you bringing this to exhibitions!
  3. The illuminati, duh. The sinister cabal at the heart of the American government. Can't remember whether they eat children or they are lizard people, or both.
  4. And BOOM, a negative reaction for me to reduce my "Reputation"!
  5. Any update on Murphy Models' legal action against El Imperio del Hobby, the trader who is basically a Spanish @WRENNEIRE? Must be about three years now since MM took the action against him. Jose is still trading, I know that much, but 99,99% of his stock is out of my field of interest.
  6. On a tangeant but along the same lines, a couple of older posts, long predating the Ballasts, have popped up while searching the forum. One thing that stands out, almost screams at me, is the integrity, humility, professionalism and courtesy of @BosKonay, @Warbonnet and @Garfield. Time and time again they stand up for other manufacturers, they chastise those taking pot shots and they try to do what is right. Examples are @Davidand @Killucan2 sniping at ECM Trains and at Murphy Models, and the lads are straight in to defend the victims. There are lots of other examples but over time, the picture becomes clearer. There are several members who stand out in this aspect, @WRENNEIRE, @JasonB @RedRichand several others whose usernames escape me right now. There's a delicate balance between what IS right and what appears right - I try to find this balance when dealing with some of the nastier bullying posts that are made, sometimes I succeed, sometimes I fail. But what strikes me is the consistency with which the IRM lads TRY to say and do what is right. Not what is popular nor what is easy, but what is right. Their effort is consistent and unquestionable. Aside from the quality of the models, the diversity of the range, the activism and sponsorship of community events, the communication and customer service, the honesty and openness, the moral and ethical compass of IRM is beyond reproach. Take a bow.
  7. So it's possible that the "Reputation" would match the post count if there were zero likes, be higher if there were positive reactions and be lower if there were negative reactions. I must set up a second account just to abuse and threaten other members, rubbish manufacturers and bully people, then compare the metrics over time.
  8. How is one's "Reputation" determined? What factors are taken into account, and how is each factor weighted? I had been assuming that your "Reputation" was a category of 500 points based on how many posts you had made, from looking at other member's profiles, but this doesn't seem correct when looking at my own profile. And how is the "Top %" of members defined? Is this based on something simple like Reputation divided by number of posts / amount of content? Or is this something different?
  9. Lovely shot. The geography of the island would tend to lean more towards end-to-end rally stages, either uphill or downhill, as opposed to laps. Probably be a few years yet before the actual motor circuit is finished and open. China will have been sanctioned for invading Taiwan by then, and IRM will have opened a factory here. In Ride 3, they used some real scenery, but invented a road that doesn't exist to create the loop.
  10. You mean Gran Turismo 7! There is a ficticuous track in Ride 3: Highlights from last years main rally:
  11. Don't forget the Magnesite Sale, people! Down to €100 per pack minus 10% bundle discount!
  12. @Sean Told me that Rule 1 may have been recording at the show today, so for anybody interested, their channel is: https://m.youtube.com/@Rule1ModelRailways/videos
  13. Once the weathering is a challenge for @murphaph, that's all that matters.
  14. Plenty around Limerick, so, in case anybody ever plans a Limerick Junction layout!
  15. Yeah, I was guessing that the 42' Weedspray train finished up recently.
  16. What's the history of the weedspray train? The tanks on the 42' flats, are they the same tanks that were on the 20' (?) flats previously? And the 42' Weedspray ran from 2005 / 2006 until a year or two ago? When did the 20' Weedspray run from and until?
  17. The two era descriptions should probably be 1980 to 1987 and 1987 to 1994, instead of 1980 to 1984 and 1984 to 1994?
  18. Awesome! Get your weathering stick ready, @murphaph!
  19. About to place a few pre-orders, but have a question for the lads, first. Is it likely that all sixteen (or more!) will arrive in stock at the same time, or are they more likely to arrive in batches, like greens together, IRs together, snack cars together etc? I don't want to cause problems for you if my pre-orders end up being a mix of in-stock and pre-order items together.
  20. I believe you were looking for a bigger challenge than just building a loco out of a box of dust, so... How dirty did these get in real life, if "somebody" were to get roped into weathering a few rakes?
  21. Very froth-worthy! 16 variants available to pre-order so far. Mind blown.
