  12. Frank Your as handy as a small pot! (PS Small pots are very handy)
  13. Yep Reason its hard to find a boxed one is that the Box was cut up to make the buildings on the rear, which were HO!
  14. Kieran All the Lima / Jouef items were released in Dec 03 They also took on the LT prefix as opposed to the L prefix They were in liquidation shortly after these models were released and then finally sold out to Hornby in late 2004.

  18. This is the BR version of the Irish freight set It has a white wagon (Gulf I think ) and also the Motorail car carrier Looks like it could be a mixed version of both sets The Irish car carrier is a darker shade of Blue/Green and does not have the Motorail logo The Supertrain A Class was a more common loco compared to the IR one which came in the Irish InterCity set This set also has Capris on the box lid and also in the car carrier If you ever get a chance to have a scout at the box could you check the reference number please? Irish IR InterCity sets carried the ref LIMA 106300X03 for the freight set & LIMA 106300X02 for the passenger set
  19. Its the second half of the freight livery delivery Orange one should be here second week in Dec
  20. After Lima had some success with their N Gauge models in the late 60's early 70' they decided to enter the British OO market However their scale was HO and they produced HO models from about '73 They did not look correct when compared to similar British outline models and they decided to manufacture in OO This was completed by '77 so as can be seen there was a small 4 year window when these models were produced. The Irish company Toys International and in particular its General manager John Byrne was approached by the Wrenn brothers with a view to becoming the Irish agent for Lima and in '74 they met at the Nuremburg Toy Fair. John Byrne brought up the subject of Irish liveries as there was now for the first time an Irish agent. Christmas '74 saw the introduction of the HO Supertrain set, the real one had just been launched by CIE the previous year. So historically this is the first Irish outline set that was available to buy RTR Incidentally John Byrne later moved to Hornby and was also responsible for the Hymek sets. A very collectable set for any serious Irish collector.
