  1. Yes, while my four BLI diesels have been good (if hard to programme on DCC in their Blueline guise) this GS4 was a clunker when I got it. Sent it back to BLI and got it back 2 months later with a rather long list of fixes done. Now she runs like a champ. MTH do a GS4 too, but MTH have their own issues.
  2. Yep a class 20 was the loco used in the film. Done on a UK preserved line iirc.
  3. This has been all over the internet the past few days (almost as much as Bowie!) but hasn't popped up here yet. Owner of Rapido Trains builds a bit of a VIA coach in his basement. Will Paddy Murphy be building a Craven in his attic next?
  4. She's a beauty, many thanks for the video. She has a nice elegance to her too, unlike a lot of north American steam locos. I have one 4-8-4. a BLI Southern Pacific GS4. It's a rare one in that it actually works properly! Diecast, smoke unit, sound and very smooth. [video=youtube;HRF76IzPT-Q] I don't think she's as pretty as yours though! I think A4Mallard took some close up pics of this, I have none myself. I have a couple of other freight kettles but I really like the balance of American 4-8-4s. And yes, that is a Rapido steam generator I believe?

Always remember that the purists on here were beginners once too and make plenty of mistakes along the way. Having a go is the most important part, and you'll learn from any mistakes you make and love the results when something goes right! Fair play for having a go!
  6. Very nice, have these got Tsunami sound? Any chance of a video of it in action?
  7. I absolutely agree Rich, this is superb stuff, as is Richies. Great inspiring stuff lads!
  8. Now in the custody of Herr Flick...
  9. Fuel terminal/cement silos?
  10. Nice one Fitzy, you can't go wrong with Kato. I have a few AC4400s and Dash 9s like yours in HO, they're gorgeous in every way. Look forward to seeing the layout progress.
  11. Happy birthday!
  12. I'm amazed that 40 Crossley engined A Classes managed to do it without breaking down. Great info, keep it coming!
  13. That's weird, Anto sent me a similar type of pic earlier today starring himself and three girls wearing slightly less than the pic for sale. The worst thing is I opened it in work...
  14. For the lovers of French outline on here http://web.lerelaisinternet.com/railway/jouef1.htm
  15. Roll on 2013, happy new year everyone!
  16. yep, more pictures and updates would be great!
  17. Cheers lads. Not much of my 20s left, going to make this year count!
  18. Some fantastic recognition there, congratulations to him. I believe the designer of the HST also received an honour this year.
  19. Nice one Mike, any background info on the models?
  20. The lining would be a bitch to do though!
  21. Th tan bus livery looked okay until it faded, preferred the blue and cream and subsequent green myself. Mind you all are better than the current scheme! http://www.dublinbus.cc/ddfs.htm
  22. Available in model form from Athearn, the sweetest running loco I own. They do the verandas and originals. I fitted sound to her. They're doing big discounts on the Verandas at the moment.
  23. Interesting, I was only aware of that trial livery. What did the other ones look like? Any pictures of them around?
