  1. We're not paid to correct poor grammar and/or poor jokes. In fact, we're not paid at all!
  2. Nice one Anthony. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere before that RH175 was the last decker chassis completed by Leyland so it's a pretty important bus historically too.
  3. It was announced earlier this week that the long running Atlas train forums are to close on May 1st. It has been a great resource for myself as I got interested in yank stuff down through the years despite the amount of hot air that comes out of the place every once in a while and something I'll miss a lot when it's gone. One particular tradition that'll I'll miss the the Sunday Photo Fun tread which was an institution in itself. Each week members would put up a photo of anything they wanted such as a model they were working on, or completed, or a picture or two from their layout. The last thread in this tradition is well under way. Well worth a look for inspiration and ideas, even if you aren't into the yank stuff. Some amazing modelling to be seen from all over the world. http://forum.atlasrr.com/
  4. Some decent power on it too! CM Concepts offer the bits needed to model it in HO scale. http://www.con-sys.com/aircraft_parts.htm Would love to do one myself someday but I bet getting them around the curves would be a nightmare! A bit of background on why they are transported by rail http://www.b737.org.uk/production.htm Another impressive load is the wind turbine components
  5. From that oh so accurate source, wikipedia KD 353 is now undergoing restoration at the Irish National Transport Museum in Howth, Co. Dublin, where KD59 also resides as a spares vehicle. KD 70 was housed at the now defunct Glasgow Bus Museum but is since understood to have been scrapped. KD 221 is so far the only member of its class to be fully restored. KD 184 is in derelict condition at Kells Transport Museum in Cork. KDs 156, 199, 236 and 241 are in private ownership Would love another spin on one myself. Miss them, KCs, Ds and RHs.
  6. It is if you live outside Dublin, it could be two trains. It would get more visitors if it was in the city centre between additional passing trade and tourists who don't fancy a day trip out of the city centre just to see a model railway. If it were in the city centre they could combine it with other sightseeing.
  7. Ah how I miss those days...
  8. A city centre location would've surely been more accessible and profitable for it rather than having it out in county Dublin. More transport links, tourist accommodation etc.
  9. I know man, here's another one for you, although not a heritage repaint! Electro Motive are showing off their latest SD70ACe which is compliant with the latest emissions regulations with this slick looking demonstrator which is currently working for NS. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2779711 And a video of her in action. Personally prefer the ACes to the Gevos, so cannot wait to see them in the heritage paint in the coming weeks...
  10. I'll be bringing an apple instead of stale buns with me the next time so.
  11. Nice one Dave, keep the history lesson coming! How many sets did Lexie Tynan oversee do you know and was he responsible for the Lima HO stuff?
  12. Just make sure you wash your hands after.
  13. Madness Seamus, just on RTE News that it's back off to the 'hide. North Dublin 1, City Centre 0.
  14. You forgot to say please. No manners!
  15. Looks like I'm the only one here who wasn't educated in the dark ages. Instead they just taught is Irish; an equally useless, outdated language.
  16. I know mate, just pullin yer leg!
  17. Asked who did his repaints on YouTube, turns out it was an English lad.... Anto can sleep easy tonight knowing he didn't contribute to the boredom!
  18. Daytime shot in better light http://www.railpictures.net/photo/396167
  19. Are we 100% sure it's not John Major enjoying his retirement?
  20. They did Seamus, here's some background and pics of the internationals in BR days http://www.traintesting.com/International_train.htm
  21. Rich, it depends really on what I'm getting. If it's a loco, I can usually get it cheaper in the states, including shipping and in the case of sound fitted, cheaper than the UK despite the risk of customs and P&P. I usually use http://www.modeltrainstuff.com or http://www.trainworld.com for the states. There is a good shop in the UK called Model Junction http://www.modeljunction.info and I buy a lot of freight cars etc from there. I have bought some locos there too, for instance they have a good sale on non sound Atlas locos at the moment, and I've snapped up a few. They even test them before posting them out and give you a guarantee saying so. Postage can be a bit pricey though, but great service and website. The signal box http://www.thesignalbox.co.uk also carries some yank stuff, and I've bought some rolling stock from them too.
  22. Original Norfolk Southern, released this morning http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=396143
  23. Good thinking, will do!
  24. On the hunt for a couple of Bachmann Class 20 chassis for a decent price Dave if you come across any cheap...
  25. You would have to either use your own picture or find someone else's and ask for their permission to use it as you could end up in breach of copyright. Check out flickr or other similar sites as they have plenty of pics and you can message the picture owners directly.
