  1. In the years before CAD became a thing, Kemilway used to pursue anyone who pirated / plagiarised anything from their range. I seem to remember they took someone to Court for copying their etched footbridge kit. Not that this had any effect on the late Dave King, who ran Crownline and later PDK. He happily used most of Kemilway's Bulleid Light Pacific chassis design in his own kit for the same engine. PDK still uses the Kemilway twin-cradle compensation feature in many of their kits today. I don't think they ever paid a penny in licensing fees to Kemilway!
  2. Hmmm, the J15 appears not to have any brakes on the engine.....
  3. Are any of the Alphagrafix proposed etches anywhere near six yet?
  4. It has been said in the past that reduction in scale may also reduce any errors....
  5. Live, from Frankfurt, it's this year's European Tram Championships. There's a team representing Luas Dublin, so that will be a gas....
  6. Given that the archive is for narrow gauge kits, would the Doxford Crane be relevant, being standard gauge?
  7. Be careful what you wish for....
  8. I think the Spanish had a similar problem a year or so ago, when new stock built for a particular route was found to be too wide....
  9. I wonder whether the seller of that bus will reflect the proceeds in his income tax assessment?
  10. I have the Crane Tank in my instructions database. If you have an e-mail, I could probably send a PDF.
  11. I feel faint. For that money, you might as well go out and buy the real thing....
  12. How MUCH????????
  13. I'll certainly be taking the better kits with me to the grave - there'll be plenty of time to build 'em down there in Hell, and the heat will mean no soldering iron will be needed.
  14. Probably just waiting to be assessed for Inheritance Tax purposes
  15. Down with this sort of thing!
  16. Yes, I'm aware. I had brief contact with Neville last year. It's a glacially-slow process because the business isn't his day job. It's even slower with the Backwoods OO9 loco kits, as there's no visible progress. I did ask if I could buy a copy of the instructions for the Ffestiniog Double Fairlie (I have the kit already), but Neville wasn't willing to do even that, so I'm stuck. I reckon we'll be lucky if any more Backwoods kits of any description return within the next five to ten years, but I don't think we should expect too much.
  17. That would have been a lovely kit to make if the etches had been publicly available.
  18. The charismatic preacher business is a lucrative one, especially in American or African Christianity. Although the industry sometimes looks oversubscribed, there's always room for another preacher because "God will provide".....
  19. Suggest the Pastafarians.
  20. Sometimes all three combine...
  21. Yes.
  22. Maybe if you offer to financially sponsor the work required, he might agree to the 2mm thing?
  23. ....as opposed to goldy or bronzey? I wonder if anyone's considered putting a massive subwoofer under their layout to overcome the tinniness? Would be a gas at shows...
