  1. Nice
  2. I've moved my image to the Public folder Clicked share Get link Link copied to clipboard still does not show when I paste it. You say, "Add Image" I can't find that, the only one I see is "Insert Image" but that does not work as well? -HELP!
  3. Thanks Guys for the suggestions. I tried Dropbox but can't get my images to show, is there something else you do other than copying the link?
  4. Very nicely finished coaches but they don't have the Class 80 Intermediate centre doors.
  5. Yes Stephen, they should be familiar to you.
  6. Your only chance to get a Power Car/ Driving Trailer or a 3 Car set is by building one, if you look at 33lima's excellent thread on building a Class 80 (see Workbench 2nd page) and follow his work, that's what I'm doing.
  7. Thanks Andy for identifying the maker, I'll try and track him down, he seems to have been quite a prolific builder. Will let you know how I get on.
  8. Excellent as ever.
  9. I've been posting my photographs via Photobucket but I'm getting near the end of my free space. Any suggestion for other free sites I can use to upload my photographs?
  10. Thanks Andy, it would be great to solve the mystery, looking forward to hearing from you.
  11. Don't worry Nelson, mistakes are how you learn. looking forward to seeing your Cattle Wagons
  12. A few years ago I picked up a two car Class 80 set and often wondered who built it? I tracked it back from the seller to someone on this site but neither knew who the Modeller was. When I saw 33Lima putting up his work of a Class 80 build on the Site I thought I had solved my puzzle but no, Ivor said it was not his work and also ruled out Shane McQuillan who did an article on a Class 80 build in Practical Model Railways in 1984, so the mystery continues. I had in the back of my mind to build a Trailer Standard coach for this set and spurred on by 33Lima's excellent post I decided to have a go. After a trawl in the dark recess of my roof space I came across three Hornby Mark II's and a Hornby BSK so I ended up starting a Trailer and a new three Car Set. I started on the two Trailers closely following 33Lima's work but my cutting is not as accurate. The most striking feature on these coaches is the centre doors with a wide space on either side before you come to windows. So I started there and worked my way out to the ends. Next came the Driving Trailer which has the same centre door spacing but a different window layout. I still have to do the end (driver's window) but need to let the glue in the sides set first before taking a slice off the coach end. I left the most difficult one to the end, the Power Car and am still working on the first side. 15 separate cuts were needed to get to this stage. Having a MIR Class 80 is a great help in working out distances. It's not going to be a quick project.
  13. They turned out really well Tom
  14. With the MIR kits you would have the original white metal kits and then the upgraded ones which I'm sure you have both Dave.
  15. In all the discussions about Prototype 20' Irish Wagons I don't think any reference was made about the one manufacture who actually did produce these wagons. Of course it was that sadly missed Model Irish Railways who brought us WFI CIE 4 Wheel Flat Wagon. I managed to pick up a nearly complete kit on ebay, all white metal casting.
  16. You can make a DVT using a Bachmann Virgin Voyager and Plasticard. A 201 kit from SSM helps to finish it off. This is one I did in 2010.
  17. Try Studio Scale Models for decals. Good luck on your new layout.
  18. Great pictures, thanks for sharing
  19. Starting to look the part Eamonn, well done.
  20. That’s easy, SSM, MTK, Q Kits, Worsley Works, Model Irish Railways, Provincial Wagons, in fact just look in your ‘Aladdin’s Cave’ of Irish related items and the answer is in front of you. You could always ask for pictures of made up kits from members rather than just showing unmade kits. Thanks again for this invaluable thread, I have learned a lot from your postings, if fact it has become the definitive reference point for Irish Models.
  21. Thanks Richie, you are the first person to put forward an answer to OCV, I was thinking of something Container Vehicle but I never came across the term elsewhere. John, I have seen pictures of the old Spoil Wagons in Lisburn on PW duties and besides the Parcel Van converted from MED Trailer I can't think any others except maybe a brown van stuck onto a MPD or 70 Class Railcar. In Jonathan Allen's book he has a picture of a DH shunting UTA open wagons in 1970, I wonder what they were used for? Also I have some memory of coal being used at Courtauld's Factory at Carrickfergus, how did it get there, did Courtaults have it's own line and Engine?
  22. One of my favourite reference books is, "35 Years of NIR" by Jonathan Allen. In the Appendix: Rolling Stock, it lists all from 1967 to 2002. The last Sub-Heading in this Appendix is , "OCV Stock introduced 1972-74" and lists: 1. Four-wheel flat wagons (converted from NCC Parcel Vans) and used to carry cross-channel Red Star parcel containers from Larne Port to Belfast. 2. Bogie flat wagons (converted from NCC passenger coaches) and also and used to carry cross-channel Red Star parcel containers from Larne Port to Belfast. My questions are, What does OCV stand for? Besides PW wagons did NIR use any other wagons (leaving aside the CIE/IR cross border Freight Traffic)?
  23. Irish Railways Traction & Travel produced a number of editions?
  24. Nice to see progress on this layout continues, anything that brings smooth running is worth the time spent to get it right.
  25. A video of A Class No. 012 with a rake of Beet Wagons. The Wagons are brand new and have not seen a Sugar Beet yet. Again the double motor bogie A Class has no difficulty in pulling this long rake. Also a quick glimpse of a C Class No. 230.
