  1. What an excellent detailed answer Josefstadt and one that I found very informative.

    Extreme railways

A passenger train a half a mile long on tonight’s episode. Another programme on Narrow Gauge Railways “The Golden Age of Steam” started on BBC 4 at 10 pm tonight as well.
  3. Only one word -Superb !
  4. Just excellent
  5. Drawings were sent some time ago
  6. Great to see the development of these models, well done John
  7. I have used two Mk3's on ajoining tracks to test clearances, work OK so far.
  8. When I saw it I thought it was a Block Train!
  9. Here’s one for your archives Dave (if you have not got it already) British Railway Modelling supplement on Modelling Irish Railways April 2004 contained an article on Murphy Models. I note a number of Stockists are no longer trading.
  10. Rob you are never alone with a Linn LP12 near you, mine is still going strong with a little help from Naim. Sorry for going off post.
  11. I agree with the "invisible progress" situation, after working for hours nothing seems to have changed. But laying track on the viaduct is one very positive statement.
  12. Thanks Dave, keep them coming!
  13. Thanks Jack for the pictures
  14. Any pictures for those who could not make it?
  15. Fantastic viaduct Stephen, it’s hard to match a professional job, well done Dave –it’s a great advertisement for your skills. Again I would recommend Glenderg to provide covering for the viaduct; he’s doing some bridge covers for me hopefully to arrive before Christmas.
  16. It built from a MIR kit which sadly is no longer in production.
  17. If only I had the paint!
  18. No, I find Peco is a nightmare to put together. These are Ratio fences which come in one piece.
  19. Filling those right angles is always difficult especially trying to disguise the fact that the track is passing a corner. I used a Hornby church and trees, lots of them. I also tried out one of Weshty gates, it was fun– I did put it the right way up but at Halloween the local youths decided to turn it upside down (a local custom) –honest!
  20. Finally got to the primer stage. Test run to see what the problems were. After the test run I went to spray the first orange coat but discovered the 2 tins of MIR CIE Golden Brown I had were already opened and what paint was left had thinners added. Painting is now on hold until I can get new paint.
  21. Looking forward to seeing the final photographs. In regards to a diner, what would a kit entail?
  22. That was a bit scary, a rake of bubbles and No Safety net – you must like living on the edge Wiggie!!! Fantastic layout.
  23. That must be why there is no demand for them -I know the UTA/NIR Railcars has lifting rings.
  24. An Silverfox A Class just sold on ebay for £183 + postage! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200855538700?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
