  1. Ger, I was just thinking aloud about the LED's but it worked for me on one of the lights on an A Class I had just finished. That's a good suggestion on tinting the lights yellow. I'm still at the stage of cutting out and filling down bits of the etch and cleaning up the resin body. I wonder did Des come across the problem with the fuel tanks? I was anticipiting difficulties with the working of the front bogie and I see it has give you some concerns. Looking forward to seeing your solution. I note the weights Hornby placed in their Class 55 for it to run with full traction is 10.75 oz or 303 grams and if you transfer the same weight will the brass chassis supplied support that amount? I suppose if you did not have these issues then it would all be too easy.

    New IÉ logo...

My answer came today: "We will be rolling out our new logo across rolling stock, stations and other areas of branding in a low cost way as part of routine scheduled maintenance." So there you have it!
  3. Broithe, I just took a quick glance at this programme and found I could not leave it, fantastic, it’s made me think of doing that railway journey. And the best thing I found at the end of the programme is there are a number of others to view in the same series. Great find.
  4. Ger, started work on my Sulzer last night and used your piece as a helpful reference. I was looking at the lights and think I’ll just drill a hole the size of the LED in the Light Cluster, thread the wires and LED through and superglue it in place.
  5. Progressing well Patrick
  6. Welcome Blacksod to the site, from the amount of stock you had gathered up to date you will be well stocked once you get some rails down. Hope that is soon, good luck on your project
  7. Superb in size, detail, workmanship, etc etc
  8. Stephen, please stop showing that Enterprise Rake it’s just feeding my jealously pangs.
  9. A very innovative project and one I have not seen modelled before. Good luck on its progress.
  10. Built by Glenderg who did an excellent job and is on this site.
  11. Thank you for your detailed report on progress so far.
  12. Dave I was browsing through some DVD’s and in Rail Freight Today Ireland (TeleRail), it did a bit on Ammonia Trains arriving and now they were unloaded as well as the Fertiliser wagons leaving with the finished product. Little on the buildings, more on how it worked.
  13. Got my Canopy from Glenderg but I have to do a few minor bits and pieces before I glue it to the station and the station to the platform. I’ve done the scenic work from there round to the Cattle Pens but can’t finish the level crossing until I get the new bridge covering from Glenderg. All other scenic work has been finished in the Cattle Pens area. I’ve covered it in a short video showing No. 74 Class 70 railcar.
  14. Very impressive start Dave, I see you have been doing your homework. Looking forward to see this progressing to the layout stage.

    BBC4 Wed 9 P.M

Thanks for the heads up on this one
  16. Great start, thanks Eamonn
  17. A great leap forward not only for Irish models but a new standard set in the modeling world - well done Mr Murphy, it's quite an achievement.
  18. Good man Eamonn for taking the plunge. I’m about to practice soldering one of Des’s Brake Van kits and once it get it finished I shall be following you. Keep posting your progress please.
  19. Another model scene comes to life.
  20. No sooner have you cleared up your layout area and it just gets crowded again. It’s very difficult to keep it clear unless you are one of those very organised persons. As long as it is progressing I wouldn’t worry too much, it’s going the right way.
  21. Another short video showing UTA Jeep No.50 and GNR (I) Cattle Wagons and Cattle Pens
  22. Short video of my new Mark 3 Rake in SuperTrain livery
  23. Finished my rake of Mk3’s in Supertrain livery. Hope to do a short video on the layout later.
  24. Hidden Agenda suggested I need more Cattle Wagons which prompted me to dig out a batch of Provincial Wagons kits I had bought almost a year ago. The kits are easy enough to put together but I adapted one so that the door can open and close. My only problem was the transfers, the rub on type, some just disintegrated when I tried to rub them on, maybe there is a shorter shelf life with this type of transfer? See my layout page for more pictures
