  1. A Tesla 121, eh?
  2. Or a video https://youtube.com/watch?v=_f14V9s-7s0
  3. Which Kells? Also, I thought the Kingscourt line had very few pictures for a line that lasted 126 years.
  4. The Navan negative may be shaky, but it’s the only image I’ve found so far of Navan Junction’s yard! Cool!
  5. Did driver training ever happen or is B134 still dormant in Inchicore, or even a run of the engine? Is it almost time for B134 to be back on the main line or is it still a while till we see any activity? I hope it’s out soon ‘cuz I can’t wait to see it!
  6. Is the train in the lower picture on the main line or Navan branch?
  7. This is sort of random, but does anyone have a photo or diagram of a Dublin & Meath or Navan & Kingscourt loco? Thanks in advance.
  8. On the topic of the D&MR brake vans, anybody know where he got the drawings for them, or additional drawings of other stock?
  9. I never knew classic coaches could look so good in a cider-branded livery!
  10. And in Donegal too! Arguably one of the most isolated parts of the island making colour technology there so early quite a surprise to me too.
  11. Hopefully the Youghal branch, next section of WRC, closed section of MGWR main line, Navan line, Derry Road, Lisburn & Antrim line, the Waterford & Wexford line, and (my personal favourite but perhaps unrealistic) a line between Navan and Portadown with stops at Kingscourt and Armagh. None of these may ever open though, but with how rail transport is on the rise, maybe we should be hopeful!
  12. Wow, if there was that kind of dedication on the Navan line it would have been finished years ago! Good job!
  13. Did MGWR horseboxes ever travel as far as the Kingscourt branch, to Proudstown Park maybe?
  14. I dunno… I think they’re cute enough. A bit weird, but still cool nonetheless.
  15. They still have them in Tayto Park — or, well, did. They were surprisingly nice for something branded a “cheese & onion chocolate bar”, but suffered from, like what @Westcorkrailway said: awfully cheap chocolate. Apart from that, a nice little yoke to have and eat, but a bit too much of a gimmick to make them viable on store shelves.
  16. When did the (newer) 2600s start losing their gangway ends? They were awful ugly but now without them they look identical to the 2800s.
  17. Yeah, it’s unlikely the Kingscourt line will reopen, but I like to think about it anyways. A spur to Kells like @Mayner said would probably be a better idea. I suppose it’s just that the greenway feels unproductive, seen as we already have one nearby in Ardee, but the reopening of the line would likely be unviable.
  18. I’m just glad this is happening at all! Things were starting to look a little grim, but hopefully it’ll actually happen this time, albeit even if it was supposed to have opened 8 years ago. Apparently they’ll even use a short stretch of the Kingscourt line for the Navan North station, it would be cool if they opened that line too. Oh well, at least I won’t have to travel to another county to see trains anymore!
  19. https://www.meathchronicle.ie/2023/01/18/is-the-navan-rail-line-dream-back-on-track-cabinet-expected-to-sign-off-on-2031-start-date-for-e750m-project/ Called it!
  20. At this point I don’t even know if that’s satirical…
  21. Well I think opening the Navan line’d be a start, maybe getting rid of a few lorries with more commitment to freight, maybe the Western Railway Corridor, some more stations, but knowing this country: that may take a long, long time…
  22. It was cool to see the surprise steam loco, even if it did no haulage!
  23. I don’t know if this helps but there used to be a glass with a Dublin Bus logo on the bottom of it in my neighbour’s house.
  24. That last picture makes it a lot easier to notice how close Amiens Street is to the port. It just has that “port” vibe that can’t really be felt ‘round there anymore.
  25. If it were to try to be MGWR, they’d have to build a whole new steam locomotive, or try to disguise either 184 or 186 as a J18; although, the thought of a J26 replica is sounding better by the second…
