  4. https://www.hattons.co.uk/directory/vehicledetails/3143151/cie_mark_3?srsltid=AfmBOopKvxALPiYA3UjPBc_Td_pqMSEoNJupf24AyzN2eD8eerpiExDg hattons have a good background description on them
  5. That is intresting I remember being in inchicore in 2018 and seeing a mk3 gen van i dont know the number as i was only 10
  6. Completely agree If those gricers and 12 year old trainspotters were in here, they be loads of "they all should of been pweeservedd" bs and have 0 logic abt it even it being something worth investing in and the cost of getting it to a heritage line and maintaining it
  7. Location is a good point most logical is inchicore Ofcourse as DCDR is stuffed as it is with preserved stock and for the demand for more, its not exactly critical but also worth keeping volunteers hands dirty weather it be the RPSI DCDR or someone else in the future Below is the pic of 162 before it got chopped up it was very filthy inside both cabs and all that was left was the body and bogies like what @228RiverOwenboy said it had been stripped of all valuable/useful parts and 175 in Connolly taken during work experience few days before slieve gullion did the maynooth run
  8. This topic is about where the mk3s went and where they were scrapped from push/pulls and dining cars to standard and EGV generators all from HST's BREL's and in kits at inchicore Personally Mark 3s were nostalgic growing up seeing them all lined up awaiting scrapage or be sent to england from the point square shooing centre cafe next to the cinema which did and still does have the best view of the yard Even though there final days of service and awaiting the hungry scrapman, they are still admired apon to this day From what i know 4 EGVs are on the enterprise and the 3 at Moyasta are gone to a glamping site(s) in the UK I know others were bought back by BR and other privatized lines but where exactly?
  9. Sure look wont be surprised the likes of 171 175 and 177 follow the same path but they might get bought out by an anonymous enthusiast or DCDR catch one or 2 before the scrapman like pokemons
  10. Brilliant layout of the withdrawal dates and info I wonder what lead to the decision of 144 to be scrapped I remember seeign 162 before being diced up and it was noting but the body and bogies a year ago ill see if i can find a photo for u
  11. Booterstown also got a bin witht he plug logo on it very few across the country That’s the door u are on abt and the bin next to the old waiting hut and caught a modern bin with the old dart logo on it

  15. RIP David
  16. Its a shame but theres meant to be bogies off park royals or laminates down there And theres holes in the shed roof and everything
  17. Taken on the 28 th July this year
  18. Its now in castlerea sidings
  19. Id have to go with either one the 501 class diesels that ran along west clare as its so unique and would of looked well in dromod doing services or displayed I would of like to see the 801 class that came from germany as it would of been a nice thing to see on galas in ITG if one was preserved More recently the mk3 push/pull (i know gricerous and its in unimaginable wreck) as it would of been paired well with former hsts that cold of been imported like what IE did and ran with them and been unique set but the only places to store such a set if it would be made would be inchicore or mullingar personally as inchicore would be perfect with the right equipment and mullingar as it has a long siding that was a section of the branch that went to athlone as far as the road bridge would be perfect too and likely cost effective to restore Would of been adored by many enthusiasts if a B4 bandon likely 464 which did its infamous IRRS tour to baltimore would of been perserved would also be a favourite among enthusiasts especially in the rebels county
  20. Thanks Rob I sent the request and when i get a response Ill send over the FOI link of the response given
  21. There has to be solutions to crack down to make it a more positive and trustworthy scene As personally for me its therapeutic modelling or running models to rest from the amount of batshit crazy stuff in the world today and/or in daily life too Its something to catch your breath and switch off to take time for yourself Have to work a way to pass this passion where it will improve in audience and trust for future enthusiasts and modelers, thats my personal opinion

    Moyasta

Seeing as 124, 190, 152 and a3r are now in downpatrick Whats gonna happen with jackies a15 and the old wagons? I know the mk3s are meant to be scrapped but idk who could be interested in the push/pull and the standard mk3 coach as the cafe/bar coach is gone to england Off the top my head would be either maam cross but that could be unlikely It would be nice to have it at least protected from the salty coastal air of moyasta
  23. And platform 10 at heuston station Thanks rob I saw an FOI made abt modern signage branding and gonna give it a shit and see if I can get the genre of signage were after and hopefully its sucessful as the FOIs only look back as far as april 2008 i believe
  24. I myself alongside rob is also looking for photos of the old IE white and orange signage Personally very nostalgic period of signage Makes me wonder why change to the blue and white signage before the current bulky, plastic signage as it was signage used for the shortest time
  25. I got an 071 and 2 wollrich's and there was no mention that one the woolrich's wasnt clocked and found out when running it, it would bounce A gentlemen (i forgot his name) had a look and fixed it slightly but told me it doesnt run perfect but it was better than when i last had it, and he was right, it ran a bit better But it made me realise that reliability is an issue in the railway scene here from here and needs to be dealt with as a serious matter And i was in bangor during the summer at the grammer school there and i bought 3 LIMA mk3s with the set of another 3 with the 201, the fella i bought it off came off so genuine and reliable until i ran the loco, didnt run, @WRENNEIRE was kind to have a look in the model club and has great knowledge of these 201s and got it working perfectly and couldnt be anymore delighted to this day
