Could join forces with Westminster and there would be enough power for years to come.

Very sad news indeed. Disapointing for us modellers not living in the UK as they were very effiecent with thier service despite the hassle of 'Brexit'!! Also would like to say that Hatton's customer service was/is first class as when I have had any issues with orders they were sorted out very quickly. Like many of us who live 'overseas' they were indeed our 'Local' model shop.

Had an email from Hattons earlier today about overseas orders. Looks like they may be changing how they will ship overseas orders in the near future. I have copied and pasted the email, expect all non uk customers will have had same. "Dear john At Hattons, we strive to continuously enhance your shopping experience, and we have an important update to share regarding changes to our shopping cart and taxation system. Within the next couple of weeks, we will implement adjustments to our system to ensure that you are charged the correct tax at the time of purchase. This change is part of our commitment to transparency and compliance with local tax regulations in your region. As a valued international customer, we want to bring this to your attention to ensure a smooth transition. The good news is that if you despatch the items in your trunk within the next week, you will be exempt from any additional tax costs associated with these changes. Please note that local customs duties and courier fees may still be charged, we are working on expanding this system to correctly cover landed fees in the future. We understand the importance of budgeting for your hobby, and we want to make sure you have the opportunity to make the most of this window. We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we work to improve our services. If you have any questions or concerns regarding these changes, please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer experience team. Thank you for being a valued member of the Hattons community. We look forward to serving you and providing the best model railway products for your enjoyment."

I believe they were doing a stock take this week and were going to ship any outstanding trunk items by 22nd November.

Hatton's now offer additional shipping options with Evri/Fastway and DPD which are both cheaper than DHL. I have today received a parcel via DPD today, collected Monday afternoon with out any hassle. Weighs between 001g and 300g when packed. Ave 3-5 day transit time. £5 EVRI International via Fastway. Ireland. Weighs between 001g and 300g when packed. Ave 2-4 day transit time. £8.96 Royal Mail. Unfortunately they don't post outside the UK. They often have some good offers though. -

You should not pay any VAT or customs from Hatton's s they are registered for Irish VAT, have you contacted then and asked if they will will refund you? They have always been helpful when I used to have items sent via Anpost who kept wanting to charge Customs duty when they felt like it! I now use their trunk service and when sufficient items ship via DHL, more expensive shipping but so far no hassle or bother with customs or VAT.

Latest update on my recent Hattons order, this is an email that I have had from them today. It seems that the IOSS system had changed!! This is the first parcel that they had already resent, the other is still floating around in the system somewhere!! "Dear John, I'm e-mailing in regards to order reference XXXXXXX, where I'm sorry to inform you that your parcel has been returned due to an issue with our IOSS number. Unfortunately, we are currently in the small interim period where the old IOSS service has ended and we're awaiting the new IOSS service to take over, where this is required for orders sent with DPD and Royal Mail. We do apologise for the delay in you receiving your items and for any inconvenience you may have been caused. We are working hard to get this resolved as soon as possible, and as soon as I have a further update, I send you a separate e-mail to keep you informed."

An Post are a joke now! They have stopped for a second time my parcel from Hatton's which they resent having previously been returned as 'supposedly' it did not have the correct customs info. Ordered 20th Feb, Anpost sent back to Hattons, they resent on 8th March and now going to be sent back again! Waste of time trying to contact An Post customer service as they just fob you off with feeble excuses! 14 March 2023 01:36 We could not deliver your post. We will try to return it to the sender. Seems like Anpost make the rules up and change them to suit themselves. With my orders apparently they just got rejected and supposedly being sent back! All the info I got was 'unable to deliver', they did not even try or contact me about the packages, instead some idiot in the Anpost Dublin 12 sorting office deciding to send it back. Where is the logic in sending items back, especially in this day and age of climate change, does not make sense.

Having now had two parcels now on thier way back to Hatton's , Yesterday I phoned Hattons telling them about this problem, and they said for some reason they are currently having problems with shipments to Ireland. It seems to be when using Royalmail - Anpost, not aware of any issues with DHL, which is the only other shipping option, but expensive at £23.00!!! Anyway, once Hattons recive the items back I should get an email from them giving me options of refunding or resending the item, so watch this space and see what happens.

Well, as they are in Glasgow and continuing with their English Electric theme I'm guessing the announcement will be either a class 20 or class 40, as both worked in Wee Bonny Scotland.
