    Sulzer Kit

Put a fake wheel in the middle with no flange. Airfix did it with many of their kits. You might notice it...at 3 inches and it stationary.

    Sulzer Kit

To reiterate, through exhaustive (cough) research back in the day, an Athearn chassis SD9 or Hornby 55 were the most suitable candidates. I am also currently investigating the suitability of other more modern central motor donor chassis. More to follow.

Oh dear lord, 1979....happy memories https://www.hobbydb.com/catalog_items/452
  5. One of my favourite railways. Take the greenway cycle path from NCW to Abbeyfeale. over the barnagh gap and down the woods near Toomgraney. Glorious.
  6. That's one to be ordered then. Nice one.
  7. Lovely job Jason, they look great.
  8. £90!!!!! But gentle Jesus, does it look amazing. Fab work as always David.
  9. Yup, both pure class.
  10. Agreed. They have consolidated their market very nicely. The take over of Airfix was inspired. Most importantly, the brand is very strong, akin to Tayto and Club Orange, almost beyond advertising.
  11. I will have plenty available come mid Feb. 75+5 postage. €80 total ( a little bit more for the UK or out foreign).
  12. Yup, the shower here will descend on it like wolves....you won't be disappointed.
  13. +Preheat oven to 180 and bake for 2 hours.... Darina Allen coud n't provide in instructions as concise as that! Many thanks David and also for the shout out
  14. Wow wow wow. Beautiful work David. Love the Backhead detailing. But....how did you manage the Belpaire boiler? Please share!
  15. Oh that's very good to have! Nice one.
  16. +1 , Backwood Miniatures covers the Irish Narrow gauge very well. I'll find a catalog and put up when I get the chance. Try Alphagraphics for 7mm narrow gauge, they have some lovely sets.
  17. Had the pleasure of getting to it shortly before it closed. Had to wait for 40 minutes before going into the working version, which was all to the good, as it gave me the chance to fully appreciate the static exhibition. What struck me was that while some of the fine detail wasn't there in some models, the shape and general presentation was just so "on". Kind of like the old Q kits, a little bit basic, but they just look so right.
  18. Nice Garden Scale Loco there Tony
  19. Dry powder. Under pressure it acts as a viscous liquid.
  20. Quoting the Loco and Rolling Stock bible (H&D 2nd Ed. P.78), the bubbles were introduced in 1964 with more batches in '65, '67,'70 and '72. So plenty of them around prior to '72. I'm guessing 40 a pop so won't have much change out of €600 for a rake.....
  21. Very nice. Improves the look immediately.
  22. Oh my giddy aunt. Some quality shots in there!
  23. are these 1/72 scale?
  24. Wow, great resource of photos there! Mucho thanks Garfield for uncovering these.
  25. Swoooooooon.
