  1. Thanks scahalane
  2. Great job,a lovely looking train, will make a great impact on Kirley Junction
  3. thanks again Seamus:tumbsup:
  4. I have already done that one Seamus,it is back on page 5 of the thread and you made a comment on it!! I think watching that mother in law of yours is clouding your mind!! Anyway, here they are below to save you scrolling back.
  5. Great work in a 2 1/2 hour period Colin, you will be glad to know I spent the same amount of time in the loft last night....and managed to get half a side of a Park Royal coach done!!! Keep up the good work, looking forward to the rest of the build.
  6. Glad I've finished my dinner because you are starting to make me sick .That was one quick intermediate coach thrown together, primed and all,mad I tell you, mad, but brilliant
  7. Hi Colin, back from shopping, the missus was annoyed because I was rushing her!! and I now have to say I am beginning to dislike you with every photo you keep sticking up lol. The MPD that you just finished while the glue was drying looks great and as for starting a double ender while having 6x 80 class power cars on the go,well I think I called you right at the start.looking forward to the next couple of hours and the end of the evening to see your progress.keep up the good work and make sure the missus keeps those photo's coming.
  8. Your mad Colin, but loving this already, while you are enjoying yourself over the next couple of hours I have the pleasure of shopping with the boss, look forward to the next update upon my return!
  9. Looking forward to following this Colin, they will be worth seeing on the strength of your previous work.
  10. back to the Championship:)
  11. Great pic and great work Kieran. The MPD in the foreground with all the soldering is a serious piece of work, looking forward to seeing it completed. The front of the completed MPD behind the box just shouts out Larne line to me,you have captured the profile perfectly.Good job all round.I will pm you at some point soon to get pointers for donor coaches for the 2 MPDs I intend to do,I know you have modelled both.Keep up the good work and stick at it,the results are already there to see.
  12. Thanks for all the comments guys, much appreciated.Seamus, yes she covered the whole network, including NIR usually once a year, although sometimes it would miss a year with NIR due to finances. She lasted until about 1978,when she was replaced by the more modern version. The train is a throwback to the good old days when the railways were full of character.
  13. Superb modelling, the last 2 photo's are just fantastic. This layout is going to be a classic, its a credit to you scahalane.
  14. Finally got round to completing my early 1970s CIE weedkilling train, below are some photo's of the various wagons. First up is motive power B class Sulzer B105 Behind B105 are the 2 tank wagons that normally accompanied the train next up is the wagon with the shed, along with the mobile compressor and a couple of concrete blocks for weight below is the tank wagon with the half steam engine driving end attached,a strange looking beast behind the beast is a standard CIE van along with the short coach, the original has been restored at Downpatrick, but in this guise all the windows had been plated over apart from the door and side windows and bringing up the rear is the brake van, made by Glenderg of this parish, which is just as well as I have still not completed my SSM brake van! and finally is a scale length view of the whole train Took a while to complete on and off,but well pleased with it and it looks great on the layout.
  15. Some great scenes again Noel, keep the photos coming
  16. I look forward to seeing your NCC inspired layout one day soon-Andy
  17. Nelson-it was good meeting you today and seeing your layout in the flesh, which is a cracker.I know you like your LNER stuff, but some of your NCC stock that you have converted would look equally at home on the layout.Well done with your layout and all your builds.
  18. Had a nice afternoon at this show today, meeting up with guys from the site for the first time ever, namely Kirley and River Roe,great to put faces to names.Great to see Killagan layout in the flesh and meet it's builder Colm and also Nelson from the site with his layout Durham.A new layout featuring Lisburn station, still at the build stage, looks like it will be a promising layout once complete.Sorry no pics as the rest of the family took the camera to the nearby castle, giving me my few hours of freedom!.A nice round off to my holiday at home.
  19. Great news Leslie that the spoil wagon is back on track and Michael is on the mend, looking forward to this developing.
  20. Great work with the wagons Nelson, love the remnants of coal left in the NE wagon, classic, well done
  21. Thanks Seamus,I will get a few more pics uploaded as soon as I can.The DH is a part scratch/part model bashed Mainline 03 diesel shunter and she is thus powered by the Mainline chassis.I worked from scaled down dimensions to 00 scale, used what I could from the shunter body and done the rest with plasticard.Glad you like her,I have always intended to build another one,but like most projects, what I intend to do and what I actually get done are miles apart!
  22. Very interesting set of prints Ivor and for Steve Johnson to say it was only applied to railcar 14,between 1959-1961 would suggest he has researched that information from somewhere. The period was just before I was born,so I would never have seen it,but given the way the UTA operated with colour schemes and the time period you remember seeing it is similar, there is a fair chance you may not be imagining it.Would be great if some-one could confirm it either way. Just to show the lunacy of the UTA,when they embarked on the sector colour schemes in the mid 60s,for the BCDR section they chose green/cream in both suburban and mainline liveries to run the only section left-Queen's Quay to Bangor!!
  23. Great sized layout with good access all round and it is shaping up like a great looking layout, good work, well done
  24. Superb job with the 70 class Ivor, you have captured the prototype very accurately,as you say, gone but not forgotten.
  25. Great information Ivor on the railcar liveries,as Kieran says, put up as a sticky with some of JHBs stuff would be good for resources, but I dont mind it remaining on this thread also.
