  1. Exactly, this is certainly an issue, and most likely the cause of Derek's derailing problems. I have found, if the coupler is pulled so far in either direction there's a good chance it will lock, and not return to it's original position. The most annoying part is, it can happen sporadically and to any coach in a rake, it's not always the same one.
  2. Like the shot of the fox, sniffing around the rubbish bags.
  3. Fantastic shot, Jonathan. 054 looks the business in Supertrain livery with the IR logo. Manky aswell!
  4. Cheers for the comments guys, much appreciated.
  5. Excellent stuff. You can tell that some serious time and effort was put in to achieve that finish. Time consuming no doubt, but always beats just giving the model a blast of an airbrush.
  6. Oh, that's tasty.
  7. Result. That was quick!
  8. I like your thinking. Sounds very good to me
  9. Job done. The most time consuming part of this little project, was trying to cut the doors without causing any noticeable damage. Fitting them back in place, in an open position was also a pain, but worth it. The mirrors also turned out ok. Why the model hadn't got any in the first place is anyone's guess. Adding the passengers and driver has made a big difference. Makes for an interesting scene. Wheels were also painted and weathered, and given a blast of matt varnish. Quite happy with how this has turned out.
  10. It'll look the business, no doubt.
  11. Fantastic shots, Noel.
  12. Even though these are outside my era of interest. I have to admit, I'm seriously tempted to invest in a rake.
  13. I always enjoy watching areas develop on this layout. Lovely stuff.
  14. It's hard to beat the whine and the sound of pure power from an 071, but the 567 engine comes in a close second for me.
  15. Fantastic work. 080 is the standout for me. Really like the grime around the exhaust and fans in particular.
  16. I've always preferred the look of a 141/181 pulling a shorter passenger train. Two cravens and genny always does it for me. Nice weathering on B141. Not overdone, just the bogies carrying most of the dirt.
  17. Wouldn't fancy bumping into those two, when putting the bins out
  18. Brilliant scenes. Always enjoy updates from Dugort.
  19. Looks like they're parking up for the Christmas, Noel.
  20. Merry Christmas to all IRM members. Happy modelling in 2022.
  21. Evening guys, I've just started some work on this Plaxton Bus Eireann single decker. Rather than just plonking it on the layout as it is, I've decided to try make it look that little more interesting. So, the plan of action is... Paint the interior and maybe the wheels. Add a driver and passengers. Cut the doors in half and refit, to appear as if they're open. And finally, I will need to rummage through the spares box and knock up some mirrors.
  22. Oh, that's nice. Very, very nice.
  23. Your perseverance definitely paid off! They look fantastic.
  24. I encountered the same problem when working on mine. I over complicated things, and ended up going around in circles on an 18 wagon rake. The dusting you've given them with the airbrush has blended everything together very nicely. Great work.
