Right so Ted! Pleased with the latest tree (centre of photo). Mix of Seafoam structure augmenting plastic tree armature, sprinkled with scatter to look like leaves. A little finer and less clumpy than clump foliage. This is addictive.

Making trees is kind of addictive. Mix of plastic armatures augmented by seafoam fine branches and leaf material scattered on top after hair spray type glue. A light spray of brown before applying leaves gets right of any bright spots on the branches. Lots more to try more to learn, but its enjoyable. The risk is of overdoing it with too many trees After scattering leaf material onto armature branches augmented by seafoam extensions Sprayed with hairspray type of glue prior to sprinkling leaf material on Seafoam branch extensions added to Woodland scenics plastic tree armatures. This could almost pass for a winter tree.

Cheers. Trying for infinity effect on the lower fields blending into the back scene (Athenry end). There will be a chain link fence to timber yard on the Ennis end of the baseboard and a hedgerow
-
Would be amazing to have it in lines green RPSI state.

Tree reduced in size and shape a little. This seafoam stuff is so workable. Looks less like they belong in the Rockies. Placed to disguise the bach scene joint A couple down the Ennis end. So much more to learn so much more to do.

First tree has constructed and arrived. Disguise joint in back scenes. Needs tweaking. Used a variety of materials. Lots more trees to do. Will experiment with materials. The structure here is seafoam covered with scatter for leaves.

00 Works have done it again. Beyer, Peacock & Co J24 class 475 arrived today from 00 Works. 00 Works seem to have more scale features in terms of detail on these gorgeous Irish steam locos. Delighted to have one as I was with their J15's, but this little 0-6-0 is so cute. 275 ready to run light engine to Athenry. No turn table at Gort so steaming in reverse. Some poetic license with time travel. 275 arrived from Tuam with a single cattle wagon, no brake van was required. J24 class

Stunning. Those photos are almost like the set of an 1950s movie in rural Ireland.

By dawns early light shortly after an early morning shower as the sun rises in the east and Athenry direction. Still a little damp after the early morning shower. Trees next methinks

Yes near the end they were tippex, used more on commuter trains by then and the limerick shuttle than mainline.

Lets remember we are all 99% more on the same hymn sheet than might sometimes appear. Good night.

Yes SF and IFM, I have plenty of their coaching stock including Park Royals, Laminates and the bogie TOP as well as a tin vans and HLVs. Suits my 1960s and 1970s era well and perfect hauled behind MM baby GMs or IRM 001s. IFM TPO kit Kitbashed Bachmann to CIE Bogie Parcel Van Before and after surgery 2 axle TPO Park Royal Rebuilt Dutch GSV suitable for mk2d stock Park Royal HLV 2 axle TPO SF 6 wheel HLV Scary SF HLV before weathering removed the need for sun glasses All these resin kits and resin RTR models filled a vacuum very nicely for their time. The demand too small and specialised niche era for the main IMP manufacturers. Hopefully will have some brass versions later in the year.

Yip it fulfilled a demand for nearly 18 years and was quite adequate for its time. But things keep moving on, standards ever rise, expectations even higher. I'm not selling mine as they are part of Irish model train history.

Do you have any old photos of the goods shed from its hey day in the 1960s or 1970s? Perhaps from one of Jonathan's books? Old B&W photos would be a great help scratch building it. It was a great help to me doing Gort shed.

Its a shame alright, used to enjoy RMweb, despite its natural BR outline focus, however it was a phenomenal resource on modelling technologies, different building approaches, everything from lining, painting, building to electronics, custom track tech, and scenics with many thousands of contributors due population demographics across the sea. However since the introduction of membership fees and all those pop up adverts its nigh impossible to use so regretfully I just don't bother anymore. As a content contributor I refuse to also pay for ad free use. Its free enterprise their choice as is mine to 'click' less and contribute even less. Unfortunately Its become like one of those tacky red top tabloid news papers in the UK with ads all over the place. Not sure how well that will go down with most of their contributors who are from a social conservative demographic. IRM forum web forum by contrast is clean, fluid and has grown significantly with top class model contributors now on here, so less need to tip over to rmWeb to check how to do this or that, or where to get some obscure modelling item. Facebook groups have become a great resource also, but lack the structure and search ability for retrieval of specific past content. In other special interest sphere's I've seen large new forae in the past after a period of growth destroy themselves when they attempt to monetise content and got it wrong, one had 20,000 active members but was wiped out by itself in just 12months as members just walked, it has not existed since 2014. Aside from that FaceBook has taken traffic from BB forums of all types. YBW with its half million members, nearly went up in smoke over brexit civil war between contributors when they re-platformed a few yeas ago and it went a bit wrong with advertising balance. We are fortunate perhaps not to have too many competing Irish companies looking to access the same online space. IRM and Murphy Models are both so well established and MM seem to have become almost like Tesla don't even need to advertise nor market new products. We live in a golden age right now, nothing lasts forever so, let's just make hay while the sun shines and enjoy these days of bounty for Irish Railway Modelling. Some really great content on here with its focus is naturally on the Irish railway scene, also some amazing historical contributors such as Ernie's archive. Jonathan's superb photos have been the right way up for the past 4 years, so its onwards and upwards for IRM forum. Perhaps as IRM/Accurascale now has a significant brand presence in the UK there is now room for an IRMweb, or Accuweb over there? Long may this last, thanks to the IRM company for hosting this excellent BB.

Hattons normally handle this via DDP the parcel should just arrive as Hattons are registered for VAT in ROI. Assuming the correct paper work was with the parcel from Hattons. Let An Post send it back to Hattons and let Hattons resend with the correct paperwork. They are normally brilliant at this. I've used them ever since brexit no problems.

Noel replied to Noel's topic in What's On?
Cheers, Enjoy. I like the big spacious hall they use which facilitates free flowing uncrowded movement, you can sit down and rest have a chat with other modellers in their superb Cafe. -

Yes indeed Leslie and most enjoyable to assemble and decorate they were too. It took a while for me to warm to resin kits, but glad I did in the end, and yes they are easy to make. I'll be needing some H-Vans soon, you were out of stock last time Provincial Wagons kits
