  1. Thanks Railer, Anyone know times for the Taras during the week?
  2. Would anyone know any general times for freight movements on the network at the moment, particularly liners or timber? Is there much on a Saturday? Thanks!
  3. Footage of the work at Sallins:
  4. Hi Noel, I bought this airbrush a few years ago: https://www.ebay.ie/itm/Dual-Action-0-2mm-9cc-Needle-Airbrush-Spray-Gun-Air-Brush-For-Model-Paint-Tattoo/301976438859?hash=item464f32c84b:g:IkYAAOSwvg9XVOsg I think it is very good, dual action with a trigger limiter. I dismantle mine completely when cleaning and it is still working well. The paint flows well and it comes with a few needle sizes.
  5. Looks like a neat job!
  6. I have thought about this, it would have to be cheaper than using wood and not bend or warp. It could be thinner than traditional methods but that is no good if you want to put point motors and wiring underneath. There probably aren't many benefits over traditional construction methods.
  7. The dapol pocket wagons do have several differences from the Irish ones. I'll be altering the ends using plasticard, moving the brake wheels and altering some molded details. Also on the bench:
  8. Internal lighting, tail lamps, kettle whistling on the stove...
  9. Great line up and good use of the 42' flat for several projects with more possibilities in the future. I was considering doing my own spoil wagons until 15 minutes ago! I can now 'plough' on with some of my other projects...
  10. The word is out, good call with the 42' flat as a basis for several projects. And everyone needs plough vans to top and tail their ballast trains!
  11. This was the N25 yesterday morning in Wexford, at least 6 inches of solid snow and drifts of 1-2 feet which got worse. Meet a loony who said he had driven from Cork and was heading to Rosslare who got stuck here. A tractor pulled him out. Two feet of snow in the garden,
  12. Keeping occupied during the snow!
  13. Additionally a 1-in-100 year rainfall event could occur every year and still be classed as a 1-in-100 year event. The 1-in-100 designation relates to the probability of that event occurring in any year. It doesn't relate to the actual frequency of occurrence. What was classed as a 1-in-100 year event twenty years ago might only represent a 1-in-50 year (for example) event today as the climate changes.
  14. Thanks Fran I will do that. Looks like your snow days might be busy!
  15. Great news! I can't get my discount codes to work though.
  16. Thanks for the comments!
  17. Thanks The main modelling set up is at home, but with the addition of a few essentials, LED strip and some inspiration I might be able to get a bit more done with this mini set up. @leslie10646 might be interested to see the above video!
  18. Tonight I'm at mobile modelling putting some decals on the beet wagons - tedious, might get 4 done tonight. I need to stock up on a few things for the box.
  19. The footbridge into the backscene is a good idea, adds a bit of depth.
  20. Any chance of IRM doing DCC sound decoders?
  21. Looking good TinTin, your rocks look very effective and your painting overall and detailing look great. Waiting for a train to come through!
  22. Many thanks. I am sure that IRM have done their research on this subject I have opted to put the running numbers on the end of my wagons.
  23. Thanks, that is interesting! Were the markings on both sides of the wagon? The above picture shows the side without the brake gear.. Is it the month and year noted under under each?
  24. Some serious delays on the Cork line tonight: The 17:00 Dublin Cork broke down and it appears that there was an issue connecting the rescue loco to the train when it eventually arrived.
