I went with the ESU having used Hornby, Gaugemaster, NCE, Roco/Z21 in the past. I think it is a great command station and much prefer it over the others that I have tried. The rotary knobs was one of the biggest selling points for me, as they adjust automatically when you switch loco. The screen is clear, and although it is a bit cumbersome in comparison to say the Z21 when setting up a loco initially, I find that the options that the system gives were far superior to the alternatives. I had intended to get the mobile throttle to go with it, but have not spent enough time running on more than a four foot length of track to require the mobile throttle. The dual controls on the main command station are enough at the moment, and allow two locos to be controlled simultaneously (if you have a bit of coordination).

While the title would seem misleading to some, UP and NS are proposing to merge into a single "railroad" company in 2027, subject to shareholder and STB approval. The company will retain the UP name. The blurb states: Union Pacific and Norfolk Southern announced an agreement to create America’s first transcontinental railroad. These legendary companies will seamlessly connect over 50,000 route miles across 43 states from the East Coast to the West Coast, linking approximately 100 ports and nearly every corner of North America. This combination will transform the U.S. supply chain, unleash the industrial strength of American manufacturing and create new sources of economic growth and workforce opportunity that preserves union jobs. https://www.up-nstranscontinental.com/

I did a small diorma of the shed a few years ago, not to much scale or detail though:

I started a cut and shut on the dapol wagons several years ago but never got very far with them - perhaps now is the time to get them back on the workbench.

Best wishes Leslie, I'm glad to have a number of your double beet wagons among some others.

Not to get too technical, it's been a while since I've wired anything, but this website is great for layout electrics: https://www.brian-lambert.co.uk/Electrical-Page-2.html The below image from that site shows a potential issue of shorting as the train crosses the frog if not dealt with correctly:

A 3d printed 800 class for 00 (and a WLWR goods loco)
RobertRoche replied to Killian Keane's topic in Irish Models
Could you design a slot in the print to hold the nut? While space is probably limited in this model, I have desinged prints to take rivnuts which I glue in place, and they act as a threaded insert for a bolt - might be an option. -
I took some video of the Bord na Mona system near Edenderry power station in October 2023 while they were still carrying peat to the plant.

I'd say don't bother with the clips, solder wire connections if you can - they might not be needed depending where your other power feeds are.

They are unpowered so should be ok for a DCC layout. -
ICPHOWWWARRR - 22000 Class Railcars In OO from IRM!

@BosKonay does it take a while for partial.ly payments to show up in your IRM account? -
Nice ground cover, have you considered misting over the completed scene with more PVA to set it all solid?

This is one of my favourite layouts on the forum. Looking forward to the next iteration!
