  4. Great photo of Victoria Road and pity it was not available for my new County Donegal book!
  5. After a few problems the 2nd print run of this new book has now arrived in Donegal Town. All monies raised support the work of the Donegal Railway Heritage Centre. Book has 273 photos for 20 Euro plus P and P.

  7. 837 arrived in Whitehead yesterday evening
  8. Depends on getting serious money from Stormont which means that funding is unlikely with the current stalemate at Stormont

  14. From what I am.told 131 is now approved to.operate on Irish Rail now

  17. Did an article last year on early UTA Railcars in Railway Bylines magazine
  18. New 144 page now available from Donegal Railway Heritage Centre ALL monies raised support preserving the railway Heritage of Derry And Donegal. Over 270 photos including 60 colour at 15£ or 20 Euoros from Donegal Railway Heritage Centre. Thanks to Ernie of this parish in particular.

  20. Roy Dennison spends a few days in early December 1959 on the CDR
  21. There are some photos that show CDR rolling stock in service that were not recorded by Patterson. There is an ex CVR brake van from 1945 supplied by JHB Senior which will be in the new CDR book from the Donegal Railway Heritage Centre out at last next week.
  22. Most unusual to see two Class 5 tan ks on the Letterkenny branch
  23. The CDR stock at Strabane were just beside the perimeter of the Army base in Strabane and about 400 yards from the border When Dr Cox paid a visit in late 1970s to the stock he had to hide as the local IRA fired a few rounds at the Army base!
